It’s not like we’ve never been serious about our football program.
Chris Robinson took the helm of our Athletics Department just prior to the COVID 2021 Spring Season. While he’s still new to the position, he’s not new to our athletic policies and past practices. AD Robinson (Chris, not Ashley) has seen and unfortunately knows all too well the damage that comes with late recruiting. I had texted him right after Thanksgiving, explaining my desire to see UAPB do a serious inquiry search and good hire, and stop the lazy practice of selecting interims as HFCs. I also told him that while I appreciate his commitment & dedication to our Athletics, I was very concerned about the morale of our

team. Since he’s always worked closely with our Alumni Chapter (in both capacities of student recruitment & athletics), he took time to respond, thanking me for my continued support of him & assurance that he is still working diligently to resolve & improve athletic issues including our

program.
With the exception of the late Maurice “Mo” Forte, I’ve never seen my UAPB fire any HFC before the season officially end. When Gamble was (finally) fired, that was pretty telling. And I don’t think I’ve ever seen any UAPB HFC announced as a new hire BEFORE the year ended. That was VERY telling!
They’re very small, but to me, it’s indication that much needed changes are taking place.
