The PVAMU Marching Storm would like to congratulate our drumline for being selected to participate in the upcoming Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California along with all of the Percussion sections featured in the 2018 Honda Battle of the Bands. We would also like to thank @the_honda for giving us the opportunity to experience this event! Catch them live on ABC @8 am New Years Day!
I see FAMU has really attached themselves to playing Do Whatcha Wanna. lol
It’s been played at FAMU for as long as I can remember...the fans love it. It’s doesn’t have the exact feel of say a Louisiana band, but it does the job for the FAMU fans.
You must be a youngster, because FAMU started playing it after hearing SU playing it. It was one of SU's signature songs exiting the field in the 80's and 90's.
A student arranger wrote it in 94 for a class assignment and presented it to the band. We played it. The crowd liked it. It became a thing.
I never said it wasn't. I'm also well aware that it was a signature exit for SU in the 80s. I'm just telling you how, when and why the 100 started playing it.
