Tweets done failed him now

Yuri Wright, the 4-star CB from New Jersey, was once though to be headed to Michigan in the 2012 class. Earlier this month, the Michigan coaching staff took a deeper look into the prospect after a concerned alumnus sent the school verbatim tweets that Yuri had posted on his Twitter account that were both racially and sexually unacceptable.

Dude really has a thing for Becky. He, along with most student-athletes, needs to delete his social networking accounts.

Our children need to learn that social media (i.e. twitter, facebook, myspace, et al) is not your friend. Everybody is looking for dirt on social media sites these days from lawyers to law enforcement to spouses to employers....you name it. Cops are busting criminals everyday because they post their deeds on social media sites bragging about their misdeeds. What you say one on one to a friend can be denied.....what you say to the world cannot.

Do you pity him? I sure as hell don't. They say closed mouths don't get fed. But this dude here is gonna need surgery to remove his foot from his. Oh well...

Man this is ridiculous....this is a kid....he should be sat down and coached about life and not hindered by this....for the alumni to demand he not be admitted is worse. Folks act like they never fugged up.

Young people (and older people) do and say dumb things. I have said some dumb-ass things in my youth that I wish I could take back and if Social Media were available to me in the '60s and '70s I may have done some of the same stupid stuff. The reality is that "back in the day" saying dumb stuff usually went no farther than those in ear shot. Today dumb stuff can go worldwide if posted online....whether you intend it to or not. Being brash and braggadocios is not new but the backlash these days can affect a person for more seriously than "back in the day".

Our kids need to realize this is NOT the world they think it is and definitely not the country they think it is....they are still Black in the U.S.A.

He'll get a scholarship. Just not there.

Pretty much.

Yeah, but folks also have to realize how one presents themselves in a public forum or elsewhere has consequences. Rashard Mendenhall lost an endorsement deal in the offseason for some tweets he made in regards to the death of bin Laden and 9/11. So, folks have to be careful.

I am sure you are correct but with the NCAA pushing its agenda and "character" becoming more of an issue when recruiting it will behoove young men (especially young Black men) to be aware that what they say and do can come back to haunt them. I think he deserves a second chance somewhere (hopefully an HBCU).

I found it humorous that at 17 he wanted a "bad ass white girl".... The sisters had better step up their game........LOL

Did any of you read the comments?

Hey............He did it to himself. Wonder how the "beckys" are treating him now cause you know the sistas ain't gonna look his way now.

Dude did it to himself. You can't post that sort of stuff and not expect people to react. Officials with the school told him to get off twitter and he ignored their advice.

it's crazy, somebody is gonna get a steal of a cornerback. I just wish the kids would lock their accounts and not add people they don't know, because many are "fans" that want to get inside info on these recruits.
