TSU's Webster itching for season to get started


we HAVE to work on special teams... it almost cost us the game... I say we just go for two after every touchdown... who is going to outjump our tight ends? Our tight ends KILLED TSU. Every field goal/extra point we kicked got blocked with the exception of one.

lol BOTH Lukes kicked yo arse... Kelcey had over 200 all porpose yards... Nic had 107 rushing yards.
 



I agree with you. All SWAC teams needs to put more emphasis on kicking field goals and extra points. That was one of the main reason why Grambling lost to Hampton. Playing good special teams is very essential in close games. Also, bad special team was a major problem that costs JSU games when Hughes was the coach. I am getting tired of SWAC schools losing game because of not being able to kick at least a 45 yd field goal or missing extra points.
 
What happened to A&M on special teams against TnSU is something that is very rare. I can't even tell you the last time we had 3 kicks blocked. The good thing is we knew we were gonna hit some bumps along the way, because both of our kickers are freshmen (1 rs, 1 true). So it was expected. Most of this can be attributed to first game gitters. We'll work out the kinks this week, and see were we go from there. The kicking game will be fine. The kickers know what they did wrong, and know what needs to be done next time in those situations. Cylar did an EXCELLENT job punting for us. If anything we may need to go back to Kevin Francis holding on kicks. He can or Jonathan Jones. I'm not worried about our kicking game really. Just believe the mistakes, it all will be fixed come Sat.
