TSU's new football coach?

did the search committee interview the candidates so more folks can form opinions? Or only 2 people called the shots for the ENTIRE program.

at 10 a.m....Thompson was slated to be the head coach.....by 2 p.m., it was Wilson. Who made the backroom deal?

I hope folks finally understand how politics work. Merit and name value won't get you anywhere over there unless you have a personal connection. Johnnie Cole knew someone to get this far despite being proven, Wilson knew someone and Kenwick knew someone despite being proven.

If you want to do anything at TSU, better know someone.

This is not the quality of the coach issue per sae, but the selection process for many of the active Texas Southern alums and general area fan base.

If Steve Wilson like any coach needs support from the administration, then he is in for a rude awaken and further more support he could have taken advantage of by the active alumni group may also not be available to him.

Again it will not because the alumni do not like Steve Wilson, but they are very upset and disgruntle by the administrations lack of concern for the active alumn voices over the last couple of years when it comes several issues they have openly provided their input to support the direction they would like the institution to take.

Bottom line the active alumni members are frustrated more than ever.

Can the TSU Boosters Buy out the contract after 1 year if they are not happy and put "Their" Coach in place?

How active ($$$) is the TSU Boosters/Alums?

Not that active to buy him out of that contract he got.

 Not that active to buy him out of that contract he got.

Sounds like thats why the Alumni Input means little to the power brokers on the yard:(

Whats is it a 4 or 5 yr deal?
Base pay higher than the out going coach? Was the last Coach bought out or did they let the contract run out?

CLeB28,

Not that active to buy him out of that contract he got.

I respectfully disagree, Chris. I think the group I am refering too is that active. Unfortunately, at this time you all just do not have the numbers to generate a source of revenue that would allow you all to buy out a football coaches contract. But, I believe if you all keep up the fight, continue planning and continue with the new ideas to increase the size of your booster clubs membership. Things may quickly turn in a new direction. All is not lost, you all must continue to fight, continue to educate (both students, alums, and fans) and continue to build the proud legacy of your great institution.

CLeb28,

Also remember your athletic booster groups are very young in terms of experience and the inception of their existance. Personally, I think what you all have been able to accomplish over such a short period of time is major credit to those involved and the power that can be associated with a well organized athletic booster organization. Keep working. The true battle and fight has just begun.
