Trump Will Ask Athletes Who Kneel During Anthem to Recommend People for Pardoning

Trump is using his ability to pardon to shut stop the athletes from kneeling but that does not solve the problem. What about the many cops who got away with murder. The systematic policy decisions made on the local level. These are issues that need to have a focus.

(CNN)President Donald Trump says he wants to meet with NFL players and athletes who kneel during the National Anthem so they can recommend people they think should be pardoned because they were treated unfairly by the justice system.

"I'm going to ask them to recommend to me people who were unfairly treated," Trump said at the White House Friday.

The President said during the wide-ranging gaggle that he would consider pardoning or commuting the sentences of those recommended. He also floated a pardon for posthumous boxing great Muhammad Ali.

It's along the same lines as throwing paper towels at Puerto ricans and saying "look I'm helping now shut up and stop whining"

Or him telling a group of first-responders that folks in Houston were in their boats trying to watch Hurricane Harvey and it didn't go too well for them.

What ground work? Kneeling?

Because that kneeling has benefit Number 45 way more than him. He just gave Number 45 a bully platform that won't stop growing and has punk the NFL.

How are players benefiting? Your league is getting trashed by the highest office in the USA. Meaning your POCKET books will get a little lighter-especially when it comes to new tv contracts and advertising contracts. Along with speaking engagements and endorsements. And we all know who will suffer-BLACK PLAYERS.

And no player is dumb enough to fall for what Trump is offering.
 
45 making this overture does not at all deal with systemic issues that the players are protesting over. A willingness to pardon folks does not fix that.
