Donald Trump is using this border wall/government shutdown as a diversionary tactic to stall the Democrats investigation/oversight of him! I don't think it will work. The Democrats have already requested Donald Trump's tax returns. With the IRS shutdown, the Democrats may not get Donald Trump's tax returns, this is what Donald Trump wants!

Another thought about this shutdown is companies who were suppose to get this contract have already staged equipment for this "wall". Also, those who stand to profit from this "wall" want their money.

Exactly, it was a plea to 45 to pardon him and not get the evidence to tie them all together.
