One of the worst possible days in the history of the SWAC for me was more personal. GR was tailgating at a JSU football game in 1999. So GR started heading to the gate for annual ass whipping....you know how you see someone famous and you say to yourself, "naw thats not him?" Well GR was headed into the stadium when he saw a famous figure. But it couldnt be him cause there is no way he would here....not at this spot....not at this point in his life.

But sadly, as GR got closer and closer the sad reality was coming true. As GR got closer to the ticket line, reality set in. Eddie Robinson, a legend in American society, an Icon if you will, WAS STANDING IN LINE TO BUY A TICKET TO A BLACK COLLEGE FOOTBALL GAME. As Coach Robinson stood there with his brief case in hand looking at the box office as to say "this line aint moving" GR felt worser and worser.

Not only had SU fired poor Eddie a few years before, they threw him out in the cold. There is no way white folks would let Eddie stand in line for a ticket, but those awful bastards at Grambling wouldnt even give the man a ticket to a football game.

That image of a lonely old man standing in line to get a ticket to the game he built, is stuck in my mind. That was horrible. With all the other things Gram has done, they should be more ashamed of this one.

GR does not lie. This is the truest statement GR has ever made. When Grambling fired Eddie, they really fired him. Them dirty bastards wouldnt even get him tickets to games.

This is trully sad. I never thought Gram would sink so low.

According to this, the game was in Jackson. We do not control the issuance of tickets at a JSU game... I know that it seems like we own yall azzes but we really don't control your tickets. Hell, yall don't even control your own tickets (unless TP is lying about the "miscount" theory).

Those white folks you mentioned (kinda sounding like Uncle Ruckus, but that's not surprising) run things at Confederate Memorial...why didn't you shuffle up there and do that "head scratching, yessah boss" thang yall do so well. Now you come on here and try to act all Huey Newton... you ain't fooling me.

People like you make me feel bad about this guy:

No dude...you look it up. It's your guy who posted the location as being at a JSU game. If it even happened at all... just as you made up the occurrence, you now want to make up the actual location. Yall need to get your lie straight. If it happened, it was a dayum shame. If it didn't happen, it's a dayum shame the lies needed to divert from the fact that we own yall azz.

thanks. now move on and stop being so HOSTILE. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Now you know I ain't hostile... I'm just an internet thug who cuzz from time to time for emphasis. Now keep diverting from the Conference embarassment caused by those 16 azzwhuppings yall took in the playoffs when yall were supposed to be good.

MB, STOP IT, just STOP IT!! Ain't no way in hades Grambling will be able to talk your way out of such embarassments. The three-legged dog, then there's the TAMPAX debacle, then there's the po Coach Rob, standing in the cold....in line, waiting for a ticket. Hell, couldn't you all have given him a complimentary ticket or at least let your coach know the man need tickets.

To hell with you folks for treating the GREATEST coach in HBCU history, the way yall did. Dayum a Grambling!!:smh::smh:

GR, you almost brought a tear to my eye, but I'm too  to do it.:shame:

Dude....imagine how GR felt watching that. GR could not take his eyes off Coach rob as he stood there with his brief case and trench coat blowing in the wind. How could this be? GR thought to himself. How could this be? Man this is not funny. As GR watched that, GR patted is pocket to see if he had enough money to get Eddie in the game. TGO didnt have the means. GR wanted to pass the hat around the concession area to raise enough money to get Coach Rob in the game.

Can you imagine Alabama making Bear Bryant buy his own ticket to get in ANY college football game?

Black folks just dont take care of their elders and this is the worst case of a legend being abandoned by his school. The problem here is that Grambling just dont know any better. One day ignorance wont be an excuse for Grambling

You mentioned the SU billboard with Jacoby on it. That was real low too. It would not have been so bad if Jacoby was one of the best players on the team. Hell Jacoby wasnt even the best QB on the team. SU put that white boy on that billboard for head stratching and eye bucking purposes. At the time they had one of the best RBs in the history of the SWAC on the team, but they insisted on putting Jacoby on the billboard. Remember SU is in BR, the capitol of La. Its like they were saying to the white legislators, "look at us whitey, we like yall.... see?"

The truth is Grambling and SU are both Geechie type negros. They go about trying to please Massa in different ways. What they dont understand is that massa aint gonna like you no matter how much you dance for him, or how much you put him on a billboard.

When Grambling think white folks are wathching, they do this:

They do whatever it takes to get the approval of whitey.
SU has a more subtle approach. They put Jacoby on a billboard trying to get whitefolks approval in a backdoor kinda way. It still didnt work. 12 years later they are still pissing on the ground in that poor excuse for a stadium. So the question remains, "what profits a man to gain the world but lose his soul." SU lost a piece of its soul by putting Jacoby on that billboard. That was sad.
