Tom Joyner announces retirement

Deeeeep In The Delta.....
Giving a two year notice. Great run although I think the J Anthony Brown situation was a sign that the show was on its last legs (that and losing stations every year). His work for HBCU fundraising goes without saying

What was the J Anthony Brown situation
He quit last year I believe. Afterwards he seemed to be throwing shade as if to hint that he was kept from blossoming but...check this out...

I was coming home from Georgia the other morning, I have stopped listening to Steve Harvey for a good minute. Just so happened that my dial was on the show and low and behold, they got J. Anthony "murdering another hit."...I'm like what the what?

So after it is over, the crew start asking him questions about the obvious and yeah, Brown is indeed throwing shade in a way that only he can.

Steve's Crew: "So Jay, what happened?"
JAB:"I Quit"

But yeah, he is officially a part of the SHS Crew now. It's strange. Yeah it's a business but if just feels weird when we compete against each other that way. I am curious to know what the relationship is really like between Steve & Tom. I mean, I would feel some kinda way if my competitor has my ex wife on the show spilling it all. But again, when it's business like that...sheesh...

But TJMS had gottten to old and stale for me and SH has completely turned me away with all of his cooning...Jay Anthony Brown got to eat so I guess rather than start his own show, he goes to the competition. Wasn't like he had too many other choices... It is what it is...

I listen to Sway in the Morning....Tom Joyner was too old as you say and after Steve Harvey brown nosed to Trump I can't seem to really look at him not even on Family Feud.

They wanted J Anthony Brown to take a 50% pay cut to stay with Tom. Can't blame frat for dipping out.

I also can't support Steve anymore because of his Trump brown nosing. Be a while before I even consider watching/supporting anything of his again

I listen to Steve since Tom is not in my market

Steve also employed Jay to work on his talkshow so it's more about looking out but jay still said he wants his own show but every other comedian has their own radio show so that concept is already stale to me.

The women on steves show do not question anything he says or does to the point like they are overly faking and go with everything he says. The difference is that Steve's crew are literally his employees and him need him for their day to day lives so they have to go along with whatever is done and said by him.

You are not the only person who has pointed this out.

Gonna be interesting to see who gets that Morning Drive slot.

It was iffy on DL at first but he's got better. Plus he has been very critical of Steve and other blacks who warmed up to Trump so he's good in my book lol
