Titans' handling of Moss absolutely foolish

Dr. Phreeze

It is I...Yes it is...
On Oct. 24, 2004, the Tennessee Titans shut down Minnesota’s Randy Moss.

He wasn’t targeted a single time in the Vikings' 20-3 win at the Metrodome. (NFC North guru Kevin Seifert recalls Moss had a torn hamstring and didn't play a lot of snaps.)

On Thursday night, the Titans did it to Moss again.

Playing for Tennessee (and I use that term loosely), Moss was not targeted in a game for just the second time in his career, according to Michael Landrigan of ESPN Stats & Information.

The Titans may think he’s done, but if so the waiver claim should not be on the roster. If they think he’s done, his continued presence is strictly a posturing move by Tennessee head coach Jeff Fisher as he tries to maintain control.

But I believe even a done Randy Moss is more dangerous than Justin Gage. I believe when you’re working hard to get two scores at the end of a game, you would have a reasonable chance of Moss jumping over people to collect a pass or of drawing a pass interference penalty.

And I believe this is the biggest example of Fisher’s stubbornness I’ve seen in some time, perhaps ever. I think it hurts Fisher’s case to remain the team’s coach more than the Vince Young situation.

yeah Fisher was pretty stupid to not go to him at all in that game. what was the purpose of signing him?? But Moss still should have kept his mouth closed when he was in new england

It's clear that Jeff Fisher has lost this team, from his entire mishandling of the Vince Young situation, to the way the team no-showed the first two games after Vince Young was banned, to Kenny Britt openly mocking the coach by wearing a towel with "#10 VY" written on it, to his use (or non-use to be more specific) of Randy Moss in the offense, who even at this stage in his career still demands safety help.

Actually, the first foolish move was acquiring that guy.

How?
It kills me how people blame Randy Moss and T.O. for problems and saying they arent worth it.
SN: I was watching the Saints and Cinci Game last Sunday in the annoucers kept saying basicly they are losing because T.O. messed the team up. But yet at the end of the game, after TO and 85 got them back into the game. Mr. Palmer 130% mis managed the clock. And thats after, the off sides on Cinci on 4th and 4. But its T.O. fault and Palmer is still great.

YEAH Cinci fans are dumb if they think TO is the problem. Its Palmer. He's getting exposed. Tennessee signing Moss was a good idea. Tennessee not using Moss is a dumb ass idea

Acquiring Moss was foolish? No, not using him is foolish. All the QB has to do is throw it up and at least give Moss a chance at the reception. To not even throw in his direction is the height of foolishness. You're bound to either get a pass interference, a catch by Moss or an interception which would be the same as a punt, especially if it's on third down.

The same occurred in Minnesota. Now look where their coach is.

First off...I, personally, don't put Randy and T.O. in the same category, currently. One is a prima donna...and, the other is a non-productive prima donna.

Second...I only blame Randy for Randy's problems and the one's he causes. It's not like Im blaming him for the VY thing...or, the teams current position. But, even if I were to indulge you and say he isn't the problem...he sure as hell ain't been the solution that he was supposed to be. Or, did I miss something?

Six in one hand...half a dozen in the other.

Did the same happen in New England, also? Are we saying that Bellichick doesn't know how to run an offense. How bout Brady? Guess he was clueless to THE Randy Moss...:noidea:

What about the non-Moss plays? I guess because he can "go git it", teams are supposed to just ignore the other parts of a WR's game, like route running when the play is NOT to you...or, half-assed blocking when the play is to his side. Ya know...facets of the game that can convienantly be things that contribute to "team" woes.

Nah'...Chris Johnson doesn't need that block. Fugg'em. It's all about Moss...

It's funny...yall are making a case for a borderline-washed up WR who couldn't make it work with Brady and Favre...:retard: Two of the best deep ball throwers in the league.

How didnt he make it work in New England when he had 50 TDs in 2 years?? He aint with the Pats bc he ran off at the mouth and Bilicheck called his bluff.

Ain't it lovely how you can make stats look as positive or negative as you want?

Can ya do me a favor? Can you put his stats up for THIS year? Which is what Im speaking of.

Im not saying he wasn't once great. Or, wasn't once the player you HAD TO gameplan for and send extra guys to cover. But, that guy that most people remember doesn't exist anymore. Atleast, not consistantly enough to say that that guy still exist. HE set the bar for himself. And, THIS year he's been getting clothelined by it.

Partly True. But, that's not exactly the only reason.

Moss is constantly being doubled and defenses key on him, thus leaving other receivers and slot players open for easy receptions. I wonder why.
Look at what Welcher did when Moss was with New England and look at the tremendous dropoff in his number of receptions since Moss left.
This happened at New England, Minnesota and is happening with the Titans.

Jeff Fisher is one of the most overrated coaches in the NFL. What has he done lately? What has he won lately? Nothing and nothing. He's never been an offensive-minded coach to begin with and he certainly doesn't know about coaching QB's and wide receivers.
The Titans didn't throw one pass to the Moss, even when the DB's were playing ten yards off of him. LOL!! That alone tells me that Fisher is clueless when it comes to the passing game.

For someone to say that Moss is washed up when in reality defenses primarily key in on stopping him first and foremost, clearly prove that theory to be null and void of logic.
