Tigers brace for trip to rowdy Mumford

Ok ok people... Lemme get some of yall's embelished stories str8. Now in '90, (the year Jimmy Smith tore us a new azz) a dice game in the student section erupted in to fight that was quickly broken up when this 300 lb dude in a wife beater whipped some dud azz from row 32 all the way down to row 11 LOL. Fight over game resumed.

92 & 94 nothing happened. The men's gym is right across the street from Mumford (less than 100 yards) so having to walk across campus is a lie too.(this was when the road team would pull out the victories)

96 the kappas & alphas had a little scuffle outside of the stadium by the tennis courts. A campus policeman fired 2 warning shots in the air to break up the fight. (all you see is a bunch of scary azz J state folks and refs diving on the ground) I saw the whole thing from the studen section. I never dropped my "beverage".

98 Hurricane George had just passed through and the campus was still having some electrical problems hence the couple of game of scoreboard malfunction and automatic sprinkler problems. Smiliey & Byron was keeping time on the field so no excuse there. Yall bus just had raggedy azz brakes.

So saying all of that, Jackson folks have just meshed all of those "incidents" into a mythical fabrication.

JR yall aint as loud as you used to be and if the camera is not directly in front of each band this it's not a fair comparison in my opinion. Why do you always see videos in Mumford with that slant on it...I don't need no band head for that it's common sense...

And I really didn't hear them last year cause Murray got in that arse and was too loud for me to hear anything else...

I know you heard all I do is win, go home, etc....

Shid........them mofos are loud this year. Believe that. You will see Saturday. I don't normally hand out praise. But this 11 version of the Juke got some potential to be one of the best sounding ones. They are already ahead of the curve in just game 2.

I had just crossed then along with my first cousin(C Bev crossed Kappa). I remember that. Was ready to buss some heads that night. That sh!t had been going on since the night before. :lol:

I was at the game in 2005. I didn't hear any shots, but one Jag supporter (quite sure he was just some Scottlandville local) flashed a gun at us. We were talking noise.......that shut us up real quick. LOL

All this talk abouT Mumdford and knives, fights and guns.........The media has brought so much hype to this game.....Folk, aint nobody going to get shot unless folk from Jackson come down there looking for trouble.....TROUBLE AINT HARD TO FIND WHEN U KEEP ON TALKING ABOUT IT.....LEAVE IT ALONE AND ENJOY THE GAME....I HAVE BEEN TO A TON OF SU'S HOMECOMINGS AND ITS ONE OF HBCU'S CLASSY EVENTS....SO DONT' COME DOWN HERE LOOKING FOR GR'S NICCA MOMENTS....ENJOY THE GAME AND BE SAFE UPON YOUR RETURN BACK HOME......TAILGATING FOR ALL TO ENJOY.....WE MUST LET THE KIDS ENJOY CUZ THERE ARE THE ONES WHO WILL CONTINUE THE TRADITION OF JSU-SU......DONT TAKE THAT AWAY FROM THEM.....
 
Dancy and the JSU football team had to walk from the coliseum to Mumford through thousands of fired-up Southern fans. Dancy and others have shared their stories with current JSU players who have yet to experience the madness.





Guess what ,you still got to take that walk. we dress in the new field house. jsu to the mens gym . i just love to see them tigers take that walk over to munford stadium

Funny thing is you can't really hear sucks to good from that corner when the camera is not directly in front of the band...Ole slanted videos. Have the one video all the way over on the other side of the field but be right in front of the box...LOL SMH

Not taking anything away from AAMU, but every band in that corner sounds louder since the addition.

However, I must admit. That in 2004, the Southern fans weren't hostile, they felt sorry for us. It was our own fans throwing food and other items at Bell. Thats when I got hit with that half eaten case of nacho's while walking by the coach. I am still looking for the culprit. :shame:
