Why it got to be SU in this? GSU won the West last year last time I checked and beat both SU and PV. So until you beat them. They are the favorite. SU ain't got nothing let you PVers say anyway. Your best bet is to worry about beating Gram and their new QB.

We don't suck each year. We have TWO problems. Grambling and TNState. Had Comegy even split with those two, he might still have a job. Heck, Comegy sent GSU to the SCG in 2011. Had we won that game, UAPB would have gone.. that's how sorry the WEST was... smh

GSU won the division but I don't think they have as much upside as PV. ..but again, I have thought this about those buster azz Panthers before...

What killed us is sometimes Northern would find a way to get key players hurt before the season started and we won't talk about his defense, ugh

Last year was easy. New coach told said team, that ALL phases of the game important, but said team didn't take special teams serious until somebody named Carter burned them up. Lessons learned from SFC and nobody else exploited said team #noexcuses
 
AAMU owes reparations to JSU for owning & whippin' that ass so much.

JSU is AAMU's slump buster.
 
Grambling out the west and Bama State. SU will make a Lil noise but not enough. PLEASE is secretly building a good team but won't be able to dodge a loss at the cotton bowl.

BAMA State could win the EAST. It just really depends on if Jenkins can coach without extra practice hours and knives. That remains to be seen. What I saw last year was not too promising. It's not like the cupboard was bare. Barlow was a good recruiter. There is really just no clear best team in the EAST. Alcorn took two SWAC losses last year and struggles with JSU. They will take 3 or 4 SWAC losses going forward. JSU is starting over again but I think we have enough to win the EAST considering the other teams are also in transition. Then you have the battle for 4th play.. Comegy vs Spady!

You're right about Jenkins and his team, coaching will be the difference maker not talent. I wouldn't count Comegy out. When emotionally motivated the guy can Coach his team to a win and he's done some respectable recruiting. Valley may be the sleeper this year. I think Azzcorn will take a lot of LSU this year. Just leaving was big but was manageable, J leaving and taking coaches and players has left McNair a 4000 price puzzle without a picture to use as a guide.

Alcorn gonna be straight. Still looking to winning the East. McNair got the blueprint to win. It's not a puzzle at all. The talent is there it hasn't went anywhere at all.
 
I hate it for Alcorn but Hopson was your X factor. You need something special to win.. ie McNair, Hopson, etc... You don't have that in Air the First. Now, you will be able to beat the sorry teams like Southern and AAMU but you were not going to beat JSU even if Hopson was still on the sideline.

The best Comegy can hope for is 2-3 wins... AAMU, UAPB and maybe TxSo.

I would dig deeper into this but y'all just hired a coach that only attribute was he could recruit ok talent to an SEC school. He's not a defensive coordinator nor offensive coordinator he was simply good at getting ok talent at a school with a lot of resources. Not 4 or 5 star talent just ok talent.

Look like yall may be in for a four year repeat of the Bell years. The first two are in the books these next two will be ugly. Will yall give Hughes more than two years?

Uhhmmm Recruiting was something he did outside of Coaching. He still coached mostly on the defensive side of the ball whether it was DB/Safeties/Secondary/LB etc. And he has served as a DC before in the CC ranks. You can call it ok talent if you want but you dont get tabbed as one of the best recruiters off getting ok talent. Star ratings are hit or miss.

But we are not too worried about that. 99% of us knew that OMJ was not the right choice for HC.

I still believe that GSU and SU are the West front-runners. I do believe that AlaSU and AlcSU are the front-runners in the stronger East being pushed by a [formerly undisciplined] physically gifted JSU squad. I'm very interested to see how the players adapt to the new staff and if disciplined play ensues. IMHO, the tale of the tape will be the game vs TnSt.

Even with ok talent we are and will be better than yall because we own yall if you didn't know right along with a few of these other sorry suckas in the SWAC. You do know massa just rounded up his folks and left yall right? Even took some of the crew with em. Looks like yall may be in for a 25 year repeat of the Azzcorn years. Be mindful of what you speak on good brother
