The word "reverend"

I missed a lot of info in that thread. To my knowledge, the Baptist and the A.M.E are the only ones that use the "reverand" title.

Okay thanks......I wasn't aware of the thread

But it does seem as though a lot of people put a lot of emphasis on a title. I have had people correct me on people who are ministers and telling me I should address them as reverend.....

Yeah, that's pretty sad, but you do have folks who are all about "titles"... and probably NOTHING else. :smh:

My pastor calls himself by his first name... and most people in the congregation do as well. He is very humble and cares not about titles but about teaching us how to live a good life the Godly way!

Just about all of the liturgical churches use the title.

The Old School baptist and some AME call themselves "reverand". During the past 10 -15 years they have changed to the title of Bishop, especially among the Baptist that follow the "Full Gospel"
