Nurse’s Attempt To Prove Vaccines Make People Magnetic Hilariously Backfires

An anti-vaccine Ohio nurse attempted on Tuesday to prove that COVID-19 vaccines make people magnetic, but ― to use a gymnastics term ― she failed to stick the landing.

Registered nurse Joanna Overholt, testifying before the Ohio House health committee about what she said were potential coronavirus vaccine dangers, tried to use her own body as proof.

Overholt said she heard during lunch that vaccines cause magnetism in humans, so she decided to prove her point on herself by attempting to show how a bobby pin and a key would stick to her exposed skin.

Spoiler alert: It didn’t go well.

“Explain to me why the key sticks to me. It sticks to my neck, too,” Overholt said. “So, yeah, if somebody could explain this, that would be great.” The nonmagnetic aluminum key actually fell off her neck as soon as she removed her. hand.

Delta variant taking over in Mississippi, state issues strong guidance on mass gatherings

Under the Mississippi State Department of Health's new COVID-19 guidance, released Friday, residents 65 and older and those with chronic medical conditions should avoid all indoor mass gatherings regardless of vaccination status.

State health officials pointed to the rapidly spreading Delta variant in Mississippi and low vaccination rates as drivers behind the new guidance. As of Friday, the department had identified around 150 Delta variant cases, almost a doubling in cases since June 29 when there were 78, according to State Epidemiologist Paul Byers.

The department's seen pretty alarming increases in cases, hospitalizations and outbreaks in the state, State Health Officer Thomas Dobbs said.

"Because of our collective under-vaccination, it’s put us all at risk," Dobbs said, adding the new guidelines are meant to increase protection for vulnerable residents.

A low vaccination rate means the Delta variant has more opportunity to infect unvaccinated people, especially at mass gatherings. State health officials said Friday they're seeing transmission at summer camps, churches, funerals, nursing homes and work places. The vast majority of transmission is in unvaccinated Mississippians, Dobbs said.

Not surprised that mississippi and Alabama are at the bottom of another list. That variant will bounce around red states. Black folks better let go of that boogeyman shit and protect themselves from these trump people. Let it wipe them out before the midterms

Nope. They won't do anything to white Americans. But they will do any and everything in their power to convince Black Americans. And that should alarm all of you as evident by what we are seeing currently.

It should alarm Black people that we're being encouraged to protect ourselves from unnecessary illness and death? LOL
No, it should alarm you that you really thought this was free! SMH.

Ain't nothing free! There is a cost to everything. You just haven't realized the cost yet.

The cost has been (at least in America) more than 600,000 dead (that we know) and untold numbers of people suffering long-term disability from infection.

And the state where Coach Prime is just advised the elderly and medically vulnerable to basically not gather because it's too dangerous. All because less than 40 percent of the state is vaccinated.

But we're supposed to worry about being encouraged to get vaccinated.

Piss all the way the hell off.

Okay! Have it your way.

A Missouri couple says they dragged their feet on getting the Covid-19 vaccine. Then they got sick

Springfield, Missouri (CNN)Louie Michael and his wife, Pattie Bunch, were both hospitalized last month with Covid-19 in Springfield, Missouri.
An ambulance first had rushed her, with respiratory failure, to an emergency room one day; he was admitted the next night.
"You may not make it through the night," she recalls a physician telling her.
Michael remembers the doctor asking him about possible intubation: "Do you want us to fight for you? Do you want us to do anything we can to save your life?"

Bunch, now recovery at home, says she felt helpless. "You have no control."
Coronavirus cases, hospitalizations and deaths are rising again in Missouri, with the federal government deploying a Covid-19 surge team to provide public health support.

The state's health department estimates that more than 70% of the virus in the state is the more infectious -- possibly more dangerous -- Delta variant.

That variant, first identified in India, accounted for 51.7% of all new Covid-19 infections in the country over the two weeks that ended Saturday, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has estimated.
