the most under rated bands

^^That has nothing to do with being under-rated. Personally I don't think TxSU is under-rated. They sound like a loud HS if you ask me.

Alcorn has no say-so in this discussion. Yall got booed by yall own crowd when did that whack ***** dance routine vs. TexSouthern. I got tapes homie!

If you take a closer look at the Swac band programs for the last couple of years, there have been "classes". Like society has social classes (rich, middle class, and poor), I believe the Swac has somehow form classes. Year after year, JSU and SU, has always been one or two, which represent the upper class or rich. Then theres the middle class. They are not rich, but they are not poor either. Such as GSU, PV, AlSU, and AAMU. Then theres the poor class. Such as Valley and Alcorn. But UAPB and TexSU are expections to the rule. They are in a class by themselves. The "always on the verge" class. On the verge of being special or on the verge of being slaw. Each year thier always "up and coming". They are good one year, then the next year they fall off. They dont always live up to their potenial. You know they can do better, but they dont. I think, in the whole scheme of things, thats worst than being poor or in the lower class.

This is not fact. Only my opinion. This is the way I see things. If you are offended, you can kiss my arse!

Thank you.

I agree. Hopefully if PV could travel more and show their product to more people outside of the state of Texas, maybe they could move up a class.

TXSU,UAPB and The Storm. The reason I say PVU is because people outside the SWAC don't know to much about PVU because they don't travel. Let's see the last time they were in Central Arkansas was 1991...14 years ago.

I also believe that a lot of bands sleep on us: "Sounds of Dyn-O-mite". For one thing everybody goes through there times of readjusting to either new directors, or new leadership, but I can knowingly admit that we have some discipline problems that have to be worked out. Along with that, everybody can't be _itching and moaning evertime something doesn't go there way or somebody tells them what to do. Another problem is that nobody wants to be apart of the band just for the love of it any more. They wanna hop in it just because of the trips and things of that nature, but I can also say that yes Griff is getting tiresome because we don't have fun anymore, he's always regulating something to the extreme, and he's just not the old Griff that I grew up watching almost every saturday. I will say this though, give us some time, and we will silence the SWAC again.
Tell your BD Ricky Johnson an SU Grad, the OLD SCHOOL JUKEBOX MEMBER's say Hello..Mr.Johnson crab at SU in 71..The SWAC better watch Alcorn

In all seriousness I didn't know much about Praire View. I'm learning now only because of what I see ot them in clips in the net, prior to that the only tape I saw of Pv was that new report with them fighting Su.
My pick Uapb. Norfolk is sick period if they played any school in the Swac they could hold thier own. Alcorn...nevermind SwD would challenge yall

Miles  UAPB,..........IMO as a consumer,...I like the direction they are going in. Soon,.....They are going to be knocking on other band's doors just like MBC and we are really going to take notice.

im from GA and I HATE MOB!!!!! they nothin but a big ol' copy cat band.

LANGSTON U  (Shocked me @ Honda07'... I enjoyed their show over Fam and BCC)

I used to say U.A.P.B. was underrated but seems like they lost that FIRE they had in 03'/04'..... maybe they are back on it this year: Hopefully they are and I'll find out when I see them in Pine Bluff on the 28th of Oct.

*** Hopefully S.O.D. finds their groove back b/c that used to be my fave band before I fell in love with the Boom. If their Band Members would HARDEN up some more they would be a heck of alot better....

I saw them in 2001 (I think). I loved their sound mainly from their basses. I saw them as a typical MEAC Band. The only element of the SWAC I saw was their entrance. It looked a little like JSU.

Personally i love UAPB M4 band. they are not underated in my eyes, they are a really good band that has that concert sound that we all want at times. But to the world of HBCU bands they are underated. Its sad that they arent wher they should be though. they need more exposure and John Graham is keeping them from it. I believe it is gonna take a World Famed band to help them get there. Im talkin about a fierce battle of the bands in LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS Oct. 14th. UAPB vs. GSU

this is kinda true. if you got to travel as much as GSU, SU and a couple other bands you will be exposed more to the poeple.

Actually, that entrance that Morris Brown used to do and have done for years is [now being performed by South Carolina State's band, their band director is MBC's old band director, Eddie Ellis,] but anyway, that entrance is an old Notre Dame band entrance. You can also find Notre Dame doing it on youtube from a game a few years ago.

I love to see the Sonic Boom come on the field with that Tiger RunOn. I never get tired of seeing that. And I used to love seeing MBC run out on to the field, too. Similar but the Sonic Boom just has their own special touch to it.
