I would have to disagree about TSU band.... They are SORRY AS HELL to me..... Now I love that JSU BAND boy!!!!!

TSU don't do it for me either. They aren't overrated or underrated. They are right where they should be in terms of ratings. Now for a person from grambling to just flat out call them 'sorry'.....I don't know about that.
 
Most underrated :UAPB for sure. Most overrated: right now I would have to say no one. I don't see anyone trying to be overrated in person. Here's a thing (maybe I should've stuck with the music major), play what you want and not what you think the crowd'll be impressed with. Then watch the crowd be impressed. I mean, without purpose (educating those in the band), you're just playing for the heyall of it. It's still a class too.

You say I have no class, but you're insulting my mother!!! :shame: Your right, I'll never be half the "man" she is because she has since enough not to even entertain someone such as yourself. To be honest. the only time i can see UAPB comin up to the level that they shold be is when they get a new Head band director cuz John Graham don't know what he doin....he has had that band for a number of years...and had the money cuz the school gives the damn department a lot(including alumni support)....my personal opinion....

UAPB and TSU have always been underrated. At TSU, we welcomed that because it made us that much more fearful on the field and in the stands. Now, I haven't been able to hear but a few clips of my boys since I left in 91, so I can only go by my experience in '88 when I got there.

When I first decided to go to college, Doc had me 100% after I saw what SU did to FAMU at their homecoming in Fall of '87 (or 86)

Just to let you know how many of us on here have either forgotten or are too young to remember, TSU did the same thing to SU on their field in Fall of '87. I visited Houston the summer before my Senior year in High School, my aunt and uncle took me to meet Dr. Butler, he showed me two tapes (SU and one with the band playing Phantom of the Opera) and my mind was instantly changed. I was already in the SU "arrogant" mindset too. But it was too late, The Ocean's tide had rolled in and took me out.

(And the violins played as the soft sound of the ocean and seaguls whistle through the room on the warm breeze of a summer sunset)
