Anybody catch it last night?
The show is taped in Atlanta at Turner Broadcast Studios (TBS). Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin made an appearance and presented her with the Phoenix Award. :tup:

Decent show last night, I thought. I hope it does well.
 



I think she tried to make it too funny, and it was a little over the top. Her sidekick wasn't that funny, and that musical performance from that Jeremiah (sp?) wasn't good at all. I turned over and went to sleep while he was singing.

But hey, it was her first taping. So hopefully things will run more smoothly as she goes along.

And now she has a Daytime Emmy! :tup:

We got to keep in mind that these celebrities are human; they get nervous, too. And it's her first show and on national TV. That's a HUGE amount of pressure. Huge!

*Wondering if Mo'Nique needs another publicist or image consultant.*
 
I saw it, She was a little over the top with her comedy, but maybe she will tone it down some. Rodney was not funny to me on her radio show, so let's see what he will do.

I guess just give her some time

Her big mouth get on my nerves and once you get past that, she ain't that funny.
 
The only thing I laughed at was the Oprah bit her and steve was talkin bout.

I think her problem is with this show, is not nervousness. But the fact that she hasn't been able to make the transition from Comedian to Talk Show Host. I can't remember any "INFORMATION" she got outta the whole time she was talkin to Steve.

The question who will last longer-Mo'Nique or Jay Leno, whose show keeps dropping in the ratings (and righfully so after sending so many folks & shows including The Unit to the unemployment office). If I wanted to watch Jay Leno, I would have watched his behind on his old show.

And it's her first show and on national TV.

Have we forgotten about 6 years of The Parkers? Hosting Showtime at the Apollo? UPN reached more folks than BET and most folks didn't boycott that network.

A real national audience would be Lifetime or Women's Network. By being on BET, a lot of folks won't bother with it unless it earns an award that does not include the words BET or NAACP Image in it.

i know George Lopez's new show will air on TBS. Is that being filmed in Atlanta as well?
 
I thought the show was....decent.

I don't watch BET so I refuse to give them rating via the television.
I'll catch it on Youtube like usual, lol.

Her sidekick was horrible on radio and he is worse on TV. Did she tell him she would help him out the hood when she made it big or something??

Over-all, I think the show will get better, it wasn't her being nervous, it was just a BET production, lol.
