The last time Landers was QB....

Tigerpride

THE Logical ONE
He beat Bethune-Cookman, Southern, Valley, Prairie View, Savannah State and Texas Southern..

...and got blown out by Dr. Thomas, Mumbles, the UAPB team that Bell whooped on their homecoming, Steve Haren, and AlaState.

What is the hype about? Although GRAM drug SU all over the Dome, they had to come from behind to beat a sorry BCC team.

Also, I see the Grambling only returns 5 offensive and 5 defensive starters. Combine that with no coaching and I shole don't want to to watch the SWAC-MEAC challenge. :bawling:

Bruh why is that you bring up stuff from 2 years ago? You have to remember Landers was playing high school football the year before. Triple A ball to be exact.

Man this is an all-time low.

TP

You are only suppose to be talking about beautiful stuff on this board. You cant present the ugly truth.

Grambling only lost QB Bruce Eugene, WR Moses Harris, LT Jonathan Banks and LG Charles Wilson on offense. We return 3 starting linemen (Governor, Bennett and Cockrell). Tommy Dural, a part time starter last year at Guard, is also returning according to an article I read in the News Star at the end of last season. Ab Ku'uan and Reuben Mayes return in the backfield. Tim Abney returns at tight end. Henry Tolbert and Clyde Edwards return at wide receiver. I'm not gonna get into depth, recruiting classes and transfers but we have depth at every position (maybe with the exception of tight end). All in all, we have 8 starters returning (when you include the tight end position).

Defensively, we lost DE's Jason Hatcher and Matt Duhe along with CB Marques Binns and FS Jermaine Mills. Returning along the defensive line are DT's Jason Banks and Melvin Matthews. Dimitri Carr, Joshua Bester and Lucas Jackson return as starting linebackers. Greg Fassit returns at RCB and Zaire Wilborn returns at SS. Another plus is that CB Demichael Dizer starts when Grambling opens a game against a team that uses a spread offense (i.e. against Southern Dizer had 2 ints in the Bayou Classic). All in all, we have 8 starters returning on defense. Again, I'm not gonna get into depth, recruiting classes and transfers but we have depth at every position (maybe with the exception of DE).

Quite often I dont know if I should laugh or curse people like you. Pure, unadulterated idiocy. Did you click on this thread and automatically scroll down to my post without reading the entire thread? Nowhere in my post did I say anything about Grambling being the only team that is loaded in the SWAC. I was just responding to TP saying that we only have 5 starters returning on each side of the ball. However, I will say this . . .One team, for sure, that IS NOT loaded is SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY.:flamethro

technically, SU ain't among the top 3 when it comes to being loaded
PVU must be ranked 2 or 3 then? :smh:

Here is a guy that talked SU all last summer and rooted for Grambling all last winter.:jump: :fart:

You Jackson State people are tippin me out. Yes Bell was the coach but the players played the game. You can pull 2 years out of your ARSE when it comes to Grambling but GSU went 6-5 that year with a TRUE freshman who was playing high school ball the year before.

Now the following year as starters we have 16 starters returning from a team that litarally beat the living snot stank doo doo out of the SWAC the year before. Let me help you out, Bruce threw the passes but they had to be caught, Bruce threw the passes but he required blockers, Bruce threw the passes but the Defense apparantly stopped the other teams offense.

Get Ready man take your ARSE to a cave and finish hibernated because Comegy may be a good coach but he is not the new Talent to the SWAC.

PREACH BROTHA

And you co-signed this garbage?? :shame: Answer me this...since this thread is about 2004...Just how many net rushing yards did jackie sue have against SU that year??

no PV isn't loaded across the board.....we have to shore up our wide receivers and quarterback position. I'll put the running backs among the top 3 teams though

My definition of loaded: (SWAC West only)

1. Strong QB Play/Depth - GSU, SU
2. Running backs - GSU, PV, UAPB, TSU
3. Wide Receivers - GSU, SU
4. O-Line - GSU, PV, toss up among the rest

SU doesn't rank in all catagories so how can I go out on a limb and say they are loaded?
