Naw, McHale was a monster. (hell, I didnt like him at the time, cause I hated the Celtics, but I can respect what they used to do)

sorry, but I have never respected Malone. He's a softie, a cry baby, and a dirty player. Back when they were in the Finals against DA BULLS, Malone used to either disappear or screw up.

Magic Johnson still gets my vote. Micheal may be the most athletic, most dominant, and even the best guard, but Magic was the best of them player of them all for one very simply reason:
He played all 5 positions at championship level.
No peers.

Magic was my favorite player and I still hated the Lakers. After the first championship, I never rooted for them again. In a one on one, "make it take-take it game" Magic would beat the isht out of Jordan (if Jordan ever missed)...but in a regular game, Magic couldn't defend Jordan's quickness nor could Jordan defend Johnson's size, strength and ballhandling. But Jordan gets the edge because of his overall defense and scoring average. However, don't be deceived...Magic could have led the league in scoring just about every year, but that wasn't his style and it would have cost them some championships. His role was to be playmaker, Jordan was the ultimate "attack" weapon.
I'm old enuff to remember McHale, but he was not better than Malone. There's no disgrace in losing to Jordan and the Bulls, Malone but up good numbers against a defense that collapsed on him and the antics of Rodman. I'm no Malone fan, but Rodman would make the average mofo complain. That dude was a pain in the azz (literally). I heard that he sometimes would "thumb" Malone in the azz, give him a knee to the butt, anything to piss him off.
When Jordan made the steal on Malone to win the championship, you got to realize that Jordan was just being Jordan. You just couldn't go to sleep against that guy.

I agree that there's no disgrace in losing to Jordan and the Bulls in the finals those years, but Malone didn't perform time and time again in those games, especially in crunch time. He would take wild shots, miss crucial free throws, turn the ball over, or fall prey to Rodman's antics. I just can't see someone you're saying is the best power forward ever repeatedly flubbing on the biggest stage. (I will say that in my opinion, Malone probably ran the floor better than any power foward)
Malone was so bad in those series that I actually was feeling a lil sorry for him. A lil.
McHale, in his prime, simply could not be defended. 6'10" with lonnnng arms and a turnaround shot that was money.

Once I saw all those scrubs listed, I completely overlooked Worthy. But he doesn't belong on there with them losers anyway. Worthy was part of Showtime. The closest Van Exel and Campbell got to Showtime was when they turned their tv on that channel.

This GREATEST EVER thing with Jordan has gone far enough. Lets face it the NBA is no where near what it used to be. Simply put it is just a big marketing project. Jordan is not the greatest ever, he is the product of a good marketing campaign. I know half of you are ready to have me kicked off this board for telling the truth about your boy but its time you wake up. If the league wasn't so watered down Jordan would have to go up against a decent TEAM every night. There hasn't been a great team in the NBA since the 80's had the Sixers, Lakers, Celtics and Pistons. Since then you have had 2 good players on a team and a bunch of role players. When the league added six teams in the late 80's and 90's it ruined the quality of the game on both the pro and college level. It is the NBA and not baseball that is in desperate need of contractioin. I can think of at least 10 teams that the league can do without. Yes MH Atlanta is one of them. I often find the games boring and very unentertaining. When I look at a Lakers game I see the the same thing I see when the Bulls were winning in the 90's. Kobe and Shaq have taken over Jordan's role as the most protected players in the game. They can mug you but you better not breathe on them. I know you remember the push in game 6 of the Utah series. Imagine if Darryl Dawkins could get away with half the stuff that Shaq gets away with. The game and the refs have changed for the worse. This so-called cross over dribble is nothing more than carrying or palming the basketball; a turnover. It looks good and exciting so now you can get away with it. I'm not saying Jordan isn't a great player he's just not the greatest. As I have stated his career has been a great marketing campaign and in marketing it is best to promote the best that you have as the greatest. There are times when some HORNETS get caught up in the HYPE. Sorry MH but you have gone a bit overboard.

First, let me say that your opinion of Jordan not being the greatest is definitely in the minority among sports fans, players, commentators. And if his career is based on marketing, explain how marketing got him not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5, but SIX RINGS!!!!!!!!! And please, save that ole "he was protected" stuff by the refs. Thats one of the first things losers (or haters) start with------the refs. The guy was simply GREAT. He didn't play on great teams, he didn't have great teammates, but the results (individual and team) he got speak VOLUMES!!!!!! And let's see, the first title Jordan won, he won against the Lakers with Magic, Worthy, etc.
He (Jordan) twice beat the Jazz (who had 2 of the 50 all-time greats on their roster) in the finals.
Let's not even talk about the individual accomplishments. That would be too time consuming. LOL
Some of the stuff you say, I do agree with. like the league being watered down with a too many teams. But, I don't hear anybody knocking the accomplishments of the 60 Celtics when they were winning the league without a real salary cap in place, or even though players were not nearly as physically big in the 70s as today, Wilt Chamberlain isn't looked at in a lesser light. Since there were only a few teams with real chances to win in the 80's (Lakers, Celtics, Sixers), do we diminish the accomplishments of those teams?

MH if you remember the 80's Lakers and Celtics always had to defeat a great TEAM to get to the championship or win it. Jordan never had to beat a great TEAM. That was an old Laker team with old legs that he won the firs ring with.
