Let's see if we can get a thread about the game itself. I've seen all the crying Eddie pics (cool), I've seen the horse whispers pic (ok), I've read the Momma Jag comments (ouch) and the "unfair" reply comments (weak). I've heard just about all the funny, good, lame, weak, bizarre smack that has been offered. But as Cedric the Entertainer would say...I'm a grown man, dog...
It's time to come with the real on who and why your team will win.
I'm gonna list some of my comments. No one has to feel compelled to list theirs. Personally, I could care less than a horse turd what yall think. But if you decide to comment, please don't give me no weak isht about it being an odd year, or that GSU is due to win one, etc, etc.
GSU will win because:
1. Better overall talent...the numbers speak for themselves. This team has been impressive in each game that they played. In actuality, there has been only one bad game all year! That bad game resulted in a 7 pt lost.
2. GSU's offensive line...SU's defensive line is young, undersized, and not with much depth. Despite the valiant efffort, they are not good pass rushers and will give up too many yards on the ground.
3. GSU's finally has a ground game. Brad Hill follows the lead block of Fullback Jadaw Lawrence and a veteran offensive line for good results in all games played. Doug will make certain to have the ground game as a part of our offensive attack this weekend.
4. Randy Hymes is back where he belongs. No doubt, Randy Hymes just might be the best wide receiver in the SWAC. That's speculation because he hasn't played but 1.25 games at the position. Despite putting up impressive numbers and causing serious matchup problems for defenses, the team responds better to him at qb. The reason being, his playmaking ability.
At qb, Randy can beat you with his arms and his legs. He will be the MVP of this year's classic.
5. GSU's Defense has the edge against SU's offense. Even with Levy back, you do not have enuff weapons to hurt our defense. The pass rush will cause turnovers and your running game will be completely shutdown by the front seven. I seriously doubt if you get over 60yards rushing for the game.
6. Special teams: I saw Villagrano this weekend. He's very slow getting his punts off, doesn't have a strong leg on his kickoff (Shanklin is so dangerous on kickoff returns) and his field goal range is about 25 yards. On the other hand, we have a GREAT field goal kicker in Brian Morgan, and our punting duties have been taken over by Marcus Yanez (a linebacker who not only punts well, but has been known to go down field after the punt to "crush" somebody)
It really doesn't look good for you jags this year! Looks like your worst nightmare is about to come true. We predicted this 4 yrs ago. Now after several near misses, your azz is grass!
