The Florida State debacle...

If you put UGA in any other conference they would finish no lower than a tie for first. USC is the only school outside the SEC that is clearly better than them. The worst thing that happened to UGA was when Dooley didn't take the Auburn job when they offered it to him after the 1980 season. Vince let too much talent get away. The one thing that Richt has done is to keep Tennessee, Auburn and Clemson away from the top recruits. Dooley was also a major supporter of the celebration rule that cost the Dawgs this past weekend.

Man you got to be kidding again. Texas would work Georgia. Not so sure Va Tech or Miami wouldn't work Georgia either. This Ga team lost to Oklahoma State. Nah man, I aint buying that. Like others have said, Richt aint a great X and O's guy. And if they had to play in the Big 10 when it got cold they would get their arses kicked. Yall keep thinking these SEC teams are all that. But they never have to play teams in other than ideal conditions. USC wouldn't be the only team in the Pac 10 that would beat Georgia either.

ummm hol up.

I shole dont agree that GA has not been one of the top programs in the country under Richt. They have. No denying that. Since he's been there, UGA has finished in the top 10 more times than any other team in the SEC.

and players,
Richt doesnt need to go to Fla for players LOL. He can stay in GA.
Guess which state produces the most SEC players. Hint--it aint Florida

Just saying.
Branch out and get that difference maker cause what he doing ain't working.

This situation is about to get ugly. They are going have to run Bowden out of town before he retires. I blame the "U" for this. They just had to start back winning.

It is not just the fact that Miami and South Florida are winning. Both schools won in Tallahassee. This is not helping Bobby.

Bum Phillips, father of Wade Phillips and grandfather of Cowboy assistant Wesley Phillips, said it best.

- "There are two kinds of coaches, them coaches who have been fired and them coaches who gonna get fired."

Bobby Bowden fans must realize that the coach is in the twilight of his career.

You got to be kidding.

Aint no way Georgia is the 6th best program in the country. They aint consistent enough to be that. And if you look at history. They have always been like that. Even when Vince Dooley was coaching them, they had the same problem with consistency. Only difference was he could beat Florida where Richt can't.

Dooley's had one huge problem. It was in recruiting. He mainly recruited by need and did not or rarely recuited to get the best player available. For instance if Georgia needed linemen, most of their recruits would be linemen. If one of the best players in the state was a quarterback, Dooley might not recruit them. A lot of talent was passed over for quite a few years.

Now, Richt will go after the best player available as well as recruit for the team's needs. If Georgia needs linemen and one of the best players in the state was a quarterback, Richt may aggressively go after the quarterback.

With the exeption of 1975-76, when Georgia won nine and 10 games, and 1980-83, when Georgia won 10+ games, the Bulldogs won 7-8 games a year for the most part during Dooley's tenure.

Understand. Florida was not as good during the Dooley years as they are now. During some of the Dooley years, the HBCUs were still getting some top notch recruits. The SEC is stronger overall this decade than it was during the 1970s and '80s.

Also, it does not bother me that Dooley was not as consistent as some other coaches. :D

I am not so sure that this UGA team would finish first in any other conference. They would have problems in Big 12. However, I do have an opinion on Dooley's recruiting. Say it. Keep saying it. It was not the best kept secret in the state of Georgia.

As for the celebration rule, LSU had one called on them too.

I know you aren't hinting that GA produces more talent than Fl. Using just the SEC is a narrow standard.

Texas hasn't had a meaningful non-conference win since Vince Young left, and look at Oklahoma's record. I generally don't waste my time on Miami since they joined the ACC. They just don't measure up anymore. When did playing in 100 degree weather become ideal. When have you seen a Big 10 team come south in September and not play in a dome during the daylight hours. They won't, they're scared.

in the SEC thats the case

When it comes to recruiting, SEC coaches -- all 12 of them -- have Georgia on their mind.

Why not?

No state produces more ready-for-primetime talent than the Peach State. In a survey of current two-deep offensive and defensive rosters at the 12 member football programs, the state of Georgia leads the parade of SEC talent, producing 86 players.
