The D1AA playoff cashcow?????

Man yall are lost for real. Just like the IRS catches every one who cheats on their taxes huh? :smh: Man I swear. :smh:
So You believe that we are cheating the NCAA and getting over on them??? Man Please, They Know the Staduim is Free, They know the attendence, they know the cost of tickets, they can audit the game, so how are we hiding from them? And the IRS catches who they want to Catch and the IRS has to catch millions of cheats while its only one SWAC championship game or 1 FCS/ 1aa championship game..... Then again how do we know the NCAA dont get a cut? Do you even know is we have to buy out of the Playoffs? With out figures bein released its too many questions...

And I've never heard of broke arse people getting richer by standing on stupid like this conference do year after year.

But...........Anywho.............
nothing is going to change so why argue.
I'm gonna go talk some smack about being the toughest school in a weak conference that is too damm scurrred to compete with the rest of FCS.

If the FCS was worth talking about we all would be getting a cut of that purse from the FBS. There aint no 2 NCAAs, just one dumb subdivision.

Barack had to raise millions to do it. If we want to win a national championship, we have to do the same. Find someone to give the SWAC 250 million dollars per year and we can do some damage. We can't win the playoffs like this....neither can the MEAC...neither can 80% of the conferences in 1-AA. Watch how many teams get blown out in the first round. ...for some reason some people think that getting blown out in the playoffs is BCF thing.
If i recall it right, we never got blown out when we was in the playoffs, we got cheated out of close games, didnt get rewarded homes games but never blown out... Obama did it $20 at a time, the same approach that we need to take. And if being in the Playoffs help school like Jstate get better then the fans will show and the money will flow... Im sure the 90s JSU did a lot better then the 2000s JSU....

Money aint it. It parents that Graduated from HBCU, who look down on sending their kids back home for educations. Recruiting is our greatest downfalls. What does an APPY State have to offer that SU or Hampton don't, white parents that aint gonna send their kids there, that's all.

I know money aint the problem, Money is the excuss... We pay our coaches the highest on our level and we have just as much money as most schools on our level and our games bring in more revenue then other schools on our level. SOme people, when we talk about money, want to jump us up to the big boys but we are are not on that level lets compare ourselves to our peers....

But hey Jstate is going to the Championship and its good that they players get too see another game after have a horrible year, and we will toss the coin on the west or Grambling will win out right(which we will kick SUcks AZZ). So at the end, a team that should be sitting at home will be playing and a team that should be playing will be sitting at home in the name of making them big dollars that we are hiding from the NCAA for they wont come get our money...

Money. Did you see that article on Alcorn's bball team last year? These people can laugh at losing $100K in the playoffs because a sponsor will give it right back. Heck, they probably have sponsors for the first round games!

You can't compare this to the 90's. We have the internet now and more cable, etc... Even in bball we have AAU teams. The bottomline is that we need money to compete....and we don't have it and we will never get it on the 1-AA level. We averaged 5 million dollar budgets in the SWAC...triple that average and we win the national championship. I even doubt that McNair would have come to Alcorn now...PWCs allow black QBs to start now. Jimmy Smith and several others would have by-passed us. Yes, parents do let their kids go to PWCs rather than HBCUs that they graduated from but they are following the trend of white is right....and they want their kid in the NFL. We gave all that away as a part of integration now we have to figure out a way to get it back. Right now, we have 22 kids on the field who may as well be performing in black face for a white crowd!

Horrible would be a losing season and sitting at home.

We are 7-4 dude after losing players to the NFL and graduation. Do you know that we started the season with two true freshmen WR and a True Freshmen and Redshirt Fresmen on the OL. We now play three Freshmen RB, Two Freshmen WR and those same two OL guys plus a few more Freshmen on offense. Yeah they starting. Defensively we have freshmen playing backup too.
So to say this year was horrible is a stretch. We lost 4 games to winning teams with decent records at the end
Gram 9-2
SU 6-4
TSU 8-3
Hampton 6-5

All those teams had a chance at post season play.
SU is senior laden and we lost by 7.
Gram is young and we lost by 14-5. And you only scored one offensive TD
TSU beat us after we turned the ball over. No excuse for our young play. We lost
Hampton benefited from turnovers. Could only muster 17 points and we fumbled inside their two yard line. 17-13 was the final score.

So you see JSU only got better be it against week teams we won them. We found ways to win with a young team and experienced defense.

Sheesh man your only quality victory was JSU and PV. SU was JSU..

We in the SWAC dont have the will to compete anymore... You know why we cant compete outside of the Conference? because the players know its ok to lose outside the conference, its accepted and expected Now. We have ran and ducked under a Small Bridge accepting playing by ourselves.

And Lets put Jstates slow starting, if Alcorns Coach would have punted, Jsu lose butts in the Championship.... Yall will Lose to anyone yall play in the championship game, Jackson state is below Average at best.

I know this Appy State aint nowhere on the radar with Hampton when it come to money. Now wether Hampton want to spend it on athletics is another story. But broke aint the problem there its recruiting like it is at all HBCU's. Before intergration there wasn't any talent disparity and there still isn't, except white folx keep their kid in white schools and we keep our in white schools too. If black schools ever start signing white linemen and quarterbacks and hire some white head coaches instead of retreading, thang gonna change. I can tell you just having Yoshida at Grambling is starting to payoff already. White kids that didn't peak in are now looking in and I know cause several white kids from my hometown highschool really wanted to follow Justin Higgins to Grambling. One was an allstate center that eventually signed with LSU as walkon and made the team.

Hey when Jayrob said this he was ridiculed. I mean how many threads were started when he said this....I'll return to refute your premise about Hampton and App State.

Hampton makes 9 mil spends about 7 mill 3 mill on football.

PWC's have the advantage that we don't have. They get the best of both worlds. They get the lineman for offense and defense no matter what color. When folks realize that the so called diversity in America hasn't really trickled down then you will realize what the problem is.

Not to mention the many fortune 500 CEO's that went to App State that give back. I wish these so called middle class folks will realize that economic diversity hasn't trickled down in this country.

They getting money that they don't have to report hand over foot. Look at the new upgrades and pressbox they adding. They have a Nike deal for the unforms..ETC..

They have arrived on this level. There next step will have to be FBS where they will be dropped back to the real world.. Fast...

App State has a 12 million dollar budget. And the play in a facility 3 times the size of hampton and they get to pick from an entire group of athletes.

Hampton is very very wealthy, I mean hundreds of millions wealthy if they want to, they could. Hampton has 5,000 students, Appy has 30,000 who do think ought to be 1AA. 12 mill aint talking about nothing, it just big for us. LSU 28,000 students smaller school than APPY, and 93 million dollar budget.

A lot of the money that App state has now was not at their school before they started making noise for the national Championships.. As far as deals with nike, our conference keep making deals that effect the whole conference. So schools like Jstate dont have the chance to get a big with nike or any other company. Our conference needs to step back and let our schools work their own deals... I understand that some cant but hey that their problem.

I think that number is terribly inflated Cat. I have never been on that campus, but I am almost certain that there are not 30,000 students going to App State.

Yea you right it about half that but rising fast, Appy State turned down almost 15k freshmen this fall, it was reported in Washington DC newspapers just weeks ago, I was just guessing both schools enrollment. My point was that Hampton don't need a 22,000 seat facility, but if it did, money is not the matter. Hampton has in endowment of over 220 million dollars which is a lot of money for 5000 kids. I bet there aint gonna be one kid at Hampton in January have to stay home cause of money.

Appalachian State is not the Flagship school in North Carolina.

NC State
UNC
Duke

So your assement is flawed.

30,000 was the size of their stadium not student body. They have 13000 students and they are a state supported university.

They trump Hampton in the fact that they spend more on Athletics. Double what Hampton spends, they have endorsements, better boosters and they can select from all races of athletes. Finally they can get some decent up and coming coaches who want to make a name for themsevles with a National Power.

Hampton's Head coach is probably a nice guy but that guy has some issues.

I still don't feel 12 million dollars is a gigantic sum for a school the size of Appy State, It larger than three SWAC schools by it self. So Appt State aint making no killing winning that national championship. Actually most HBCU's are not very big schools, I think we might be better off than most college our size, most HBCUs budgets are in the 4-5 mill class, I bet its a lot schools our size that don't have that much to spend. I'm just glad we can compete.
