The curious case of Eric Bieniemy

Ok guys. What do you think? The article makes good points. Personally, I think if it ain't broke, don't fix it. He's got super bowl rings...not just one. Stay with the Cheifs and collect them rings and accolades . However, I wonder about his ambition and goals. Should he seek the pinnacle of being a head coach? What about college ranks? I remember sometime ago I read that his interviews weren't all that great, but hell, I don't know that to be true. I don't think any of us will ever know that.... Also, how much of his success is attributed to Andy Reid? Surely, he would have to give personal reference. And...why would give a contradicting recommendation when the proof is in the pudding? What is Andy saying??????Other questions.....is he a Brian Flores personality, but on the offensive side of the ball?? Soooo....what really is the real issue besides the good ole boy NFL barrier?? Inquiring Black sport connoisseurs what to know??????

I have also heard that he does nor interview well at all. I too don't know if that is true or not. But lets just say that is true, isn't that something that can be corrected?
True. I just think that being that there is a "system" in place, he may be the victim of a stigma.

Something that came up when he interviewed with the Texans a few years ago was he has a criminal record. I think it would help him if he maybe did a interview to explain what happened there or own his mistakes.

Are they asking white coaches to do the same thing???
We have seen white coach DESTORY programs and teams and still get job shots.

See most of the Baylor University basketball and football coaches.

We have seen white folks go to ALL levels of toxic and can still get WORK. From killing folks to molesting children.

I have also heard that he does nor interview well at all. I too don't know if that is true or not. But lets just say that is true, isn't that something that can be corrected?

We saw a team hire a high school coach for the Colts over PLENTY of qualified guys who been in the NFL.
What are those white guys with losing records saying in interviews? That haven't done anything.
I don't need you to interview well-I need you to win games.

This is a case of no matter what a black man does it's NEVER good enough.

I haven't read the article yet but I will. Anyhow, I think he has a good thing going on if he just stays where he is at with K.C. and wait out on Andy Reid's retirement. It will be a smoother transition. Sometimes it just helps to stay patience for the right moment instead of forcing something to happen that could end with an undesirable outcome. As with key roles in any organization, yes it is good to have a position as prestigious as Head Coach of an NFL team but with what we have seen as far as Black coaches, I wouldn't just want the position just for the sake of having it. I want to be at the right place, with the right peeps at the right time for more longevity and a peace of mind if it make sense. Mike Tomlin and Marvin Lewis are good examples.

It's already been reported that he has applied for the OC job in Washington

Guess he is trying to prove that he can be the man as far as calling plays and get from under the Andy Reid shadow

Interesting developments as of late. I guess Eric will be alright as it seems as if he was built for this and is ready for it all, both inside and outside the organization. The things that us brothers have to go through in order to level up in this corporate world established by the dominant society. It is what is. Stay strong Eric!

Man, Ron trying to save his job. they got new ownership and Ron is probably gone midseason with any type of rough start so they can assess Eric B.

Man just say it.....he is not a HC because he is black. There is no other way to explain it. Also...the powers that be don't want a head coach winning the Superbowl to be TOO black....Tony Dungy is as dark as they want to go.
