The Boule and the Links

Are they even relevant anymore? The only time I see their names mention is in Ebony on the 50 Most Influencial Blacks list.

For those that don't know, The Boule AKA Sigma Pi Phi is the nation's oldest predominantly black greek letter fraternity (not Alpha Phi Alpha). They were founded June 26, 1904. Unlike college fraternities, they are slightly more selective and exclusive.

I don't know anything about the Links except that they are the female equivalent to the Boule.

I know that at some point in my life I'd like to be apart of The Links. But for more insight on these types of organizations, you should read Our Kind of People by Lawrence Otis Graham.

I am familar with the book, but I am curious about what are they doing now. When was the last time you heard someone say I got a cousin that is a member of the Boule????

"True they were found in 1904, but the Boule was a fraternity founded for professional men"

BUT!!

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, INC., holds the distinction of the BLACK COLLEGE FRATERNITY...STILL THE OLDEST AND THE COLDEST!!

There's an article in this month's Ebony on Sigma Pi Phi and their 100th anniversary celebration.
