There is never a situation when you won't the opposition party in control. No one simply concedes power.

The reason the results of the bill are timed for 2026 is to help shield, to the extent possible, vulnerable republicans during the mid-terms. The 2028 marker is to ease the pain in gradually. Neither ploy is going to work.

Democrats should have little trouble messaging off of this bill. If they are not strategizing to run off this mess for the next several election cycles they need to cease being a party.

This started in Kentucky, they deaths from night tornados, but they don't have the political clout that Texas has! People better pray for a mild hurricane season. FEMA money is being used to support ICE.

The most important thing is that the rich have their tax cuts. Remember that the social safety net cuts wont come until after the 2026 elections. The tax cuts for the rich are permanent. The tax cuts for the masses are short term for only a few years (overtime, social security etc..).

For those who are not educated about the political system, nothing can change until 2028 and only if the democrat's get a control of the house, super majority in the Senate and the white house.

How many white kids are going to lose everything including their lives between now and 2028.

They set those cut to happen after an election. When they expect a blue wave and HOPE folks have short term memory and try to blame Democrats.

Sad thing for them is a lot of those Republicans who would push that narrative-won't be in office due to term limits like Donalds. Who is going to get his black card back after Florida reminds him that he is BLACK and he loses to First Lady Desantis.

My heart goes out to those affected by the flooding. While I have not experienced massive flooding, I have been around or experienced tornadoes, severe thunderstorms and tropical storms in Texas. However, as some have stated here we will have to expect weather events similar to this. Texas had a drought and a rainy event like this one can be a disaster right after a drought.

This maybe mean of me, but climate deniers had better take note.

They, especially the White working class, have been screwed since Reagan. They maybe beginning to see how they have been treated.
