TSU was in the mix but not sure what happened as they did get Strake "We know they recruit" Jesuit against Madison tonight at 6 p.m.

Before a crowd of more than 8,000, Jesuit (34-0) defeated Madison 69-57 on Saturday in the Region III area round of the Class 5A playoffs at Texas Southern.

The area's most highly-anticipated playoff game will now be able to accommodate the large crowd it is expected to draw.

The Class 4A Region III quarterfinal clash between Houston ISD basketball powers Wheatley and Yates has been moved from its originally scheduled location (Barnett Fieldhouse) to the more spacious Health and Physical Education arena on the campus of Texas Southern University.

The game will tip off at 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

The Wheatley-Yates clash was originally set to be played at Barnett Fieldhouse (6800 Fairway), which has a capacity of 2,750. TSU's H&PE arena has a capacity of 8100.

Fans grew concerned after it was annnounced that Barnett, one of Houston ISD's three primary athletic facilities, would host the game because it would not be able to accommodate the anticipated crowd. TSU's H&PE arena hosted the Madison-Strake Jesuit area round game on Saturday, which drew over 8,000 fans.

They play perhaps the biggest game of their season Wednesday night against Memphis and only 500 people will be there. :lol:

They played rival and crosstown Rice Owls the same day we played Prairie View February 7th and we STILL outdrew them. :smh:
