Texas High School Football Playoffs

The first round games in the DFW region saw three defending state champs go down. S. Grand Prairie beat Euless Trinity, Southlake Carroll beat Ceder Hill and Ennis lost to Hallsville.

DeSoto plays Allen this Friday and Southlake Carroll will play Denton Guyer. The DeSoto and Allen game will get all of the attention this weekend, but the better game will be Carroll and Guyer.

DeSoto has history, but I don't see them being much of a match for Allen. Allen isn't going to lose to anyone, especially now that Trinity has been eliminated.

Remember the name Noah Cain (Denton Guyer). This cat is a freshman playing varsity ball. Ran for 177 yards and 2 TDs against Hebron Friday. The boy is baller. And I believe his mother went to Southern.

ET will beat the overrated Cali squad and may not make it out of the 1st round, if they actually make the tx hs playoffs. HS football in tx is STRONG, esp ntx - it's college level in the metroplex.

Cool. Good school and athletic program. I noticed they compete for a state championship in almost every sport on a yearly basis. But its time for the State Championship to come back to the Houston area. It's been a drought.
