They will get it TBF. LOL. Ain't like their rich alums are broke mofos. They will get it some how. Just like the rest of the big schools do. Nothing to read here. It will happen. You act like someone is going to stop it. LOL. Whether they pimp tax payers into it or get some donors they will expand that stadium. Them Necks will see to it.

As for the student fees. Who cares, them mofos at A&M can afford it. Mommy and Daddy will take out a second mortgage to make sure little johnny and becky get their A&M education. They may beyotch about it. But it will get done.

Re: Texas A@M Football: Biggest stadium in SEC

Sorry, but my conscience will never allow me to stickride the Southeastern Conference.

Oh BTW, as someone put it up, Tennessee's Neyland is the largest stadium, period (108,000-plus).

Neyland Stadium's capacity has been reduced over the last few years after renovations. 102,455 is the current official capacity.

It's e-z to lay w those type of figures when one has 48K-49K student popuation. :( PV tries to follow suit but somehow, it forgot that it should appeal to the 200-300 yearly graduates for the monies. I didn't say 2 thousand, I really meant 2 hundred to 3 hundred.

Re: Texas A@M Football: Biggest stadium in SEC

So.............Why do you have a Alabama video as your sig?
Just askin'.................. :noidea:

Jstate, I was in Chicago at a conference when the game was on. When TJ Yeldon scored on that screen pass, I knew everything would be right in the world. There are few things worse than Baton Rouge after a big LSU win (especially nowadays). They act like they've never won a big game before.
Trust me, If JSU did something to make me smile, I'll GIF the hell out of it and make it my sig.

But like I said, my conscience will never allow me to stickride the Southeastern Conference.

:topic: Wow, when did Tennessee reduce stadium capacity? Was it for structual concerns?

Most definitely. Same with Texas, Ohio State, Florida and other huge enrollment schools. Then you get the big boosters and it is a rap.

Re: Texas A@M Football: Biggest stadium in SEC

I am not surprised by what is happening at Texas A&M.

Alumni and supporters stepping up. If they can raise 450,000 million, we should be able to raise 45,000 million.

A supporter has donated the money for HBU'S stadium. Until we realize that we need to put our money into our programs we will remain door mats.

I agree. We could do a lot if the grads and administrators only tried.

Re: Texas A@M Football: Biggest stadium in SEC

Who is that? Is she a PV alum? Why she wearing TxSU's colors in her hair and with her clothes? Did she defect from PV as well? Who's stadium is she sitting in. Shole ain't PV's.

JR, we showed her a little more chedda and she hauled ass down 290.

name another conference that you could say that about...:scared:

btw, don't try to act like last year was out of the norm. It wasn't. Remember the national championship game between Bama and LSU, Arkansas finished at #5.
The year before that when Auburn won the title, there were 3 SEC West teams in the top 10.
You can hate (or in your case, be jealous of) the SEC all you want, but you come across as crazy when you try to deny or minimize just how dominant that conference has been.

Last year was certainly out of the norm. I won't dare say that the SEC is not thee premier college football conference because it is but it's not stacked from top to bottom like you all act. In 2011, LSU and BAMA were world beaters and the best two teams in the nation. But the rest of the conference was not head and shoulders above other teams across the nation. That is the only point I am trying to make. Truth and hate are not synonymous.

They went for premium seating, (chairback, lux box renovations, etc) during the renovations and that cut out a lot of seats. That shat backfired on them when the economy tanked. According to this article, those liscensed seating deals pushed out a lot of their "loyal, everyday" fans and then them "rich folk" found other things to do. Tennessee athletics, on their level, is in worst financial shape than most swac schools on our level.

Tennessee financial woes mostly due to Neyland Stadium renovations

Built in three phases between 2006 and 2010, those changes cost more than $130 million. The athletic department continues to investigate ways to upgrade Neyland, whether it’s more premium spaces or more chair-back seats, measures aimed at improving the fan experience and driving more revenue, while reducing capacity. Tennessee also brought in IMG Learfield Ticket Solutions to help with sales beginning in 2011.

Their enrollment/athl budget #s are perplexing when you tack on that extra 115$ student svc fee X upwards of 45K+. And then the generated revenue from stadium-parking-concessions/athletics sales (jerseys, et al). :smh:

Re: Texas A@M Football: Biggest stadium in SEC

OK...so the changes at Tennessee were for greed more than the stadium's (and campus') location on the Tennessee River making structural changes necessary.

That seems to be the reason.
It backfired on them. Guess when all them NFL teams started that liscensed seating for guaranteed BIG MONEY, I guess they tried to be one of the first to follow suit in college athletics. Problem was they had a huge fan base where most were not able to afford those prices when the economy tanked. Now they left with a big bill, mediocre team, and less revenue than before with all that debt.

ummm, who on here has ever suggested that bottom feeders like Vandy and Kentucky are national powers???? Just like in any conference, the SEC has bottom feeders too, but that doesnt take away from the teams at the top of the SEC.
and stop kidding yourself, last year was not out of the norm.

We'll be the sole tenant of Tiger Stadium by that time or we'll pull a Tenn State and move back on campus in our own stadium (no, not Durley Field either).

I'm not even talking about Vandy and Kentucky. I'm talking about every team aside from Alabama and LSU. In the last few years, all of the others have shown kinks in their armour. If you take Alabama and LSU out, the rest of the conference, Texas A&M, Florida, Arkansas, Missouri, MS State, Ole Miss, Auburn, etc... are not exactly teams that make anyone shake in their boots. Texas A&M is looking good right now with that QB at the helm but they still have to maintain that over time.

Re: Texas A@M Football: Biggest stadium in SEC

Damn!:goof:

Yall get off my boy TBF! He is good peeps.

He's good @ his job JR. He prolly needs to be PV's next AD w/ his vigor and enthusiasm for "HBCU." :read: :read: :read: :read:

:uhoh: lol

Dude get out of Georgia has been a couple of heart beat from the national championship the last couple of yeas, South Carolina has been a serious contender, Texas A&M may have been the best team in the country at the end of last season and Florida probably could have beat anyone in the country that wasn't in the SEC last year. :emlaugh: You all come up with some cheezy stuff. :emlaugh:
