Texas A&M Football: Biggest stadium in SEC

GOAT FARM!
I told ya'll Texas A@M was not going to sit pat like they did in the BIG 12. They got the money and fan base to compete every year with the Big boys of the SEC. The SEC west is gonna be murder in a couple of years.

Texas A@M expanding football stadum to 102,000

Except that renewed excitement in A&M football happened long before anyone knew that Johnny Manziel would take college football by storm.

The surge in enthusiasm for A&M football came when the Aggies decided to leave the Big 12 and join the Southeastern Conference. The Aggies have supported that move with their pocketbook and their presence at games.

Soon, they will have a football palace to reflect that fervor.

In 2011, A&M's final year in the Big 12, Kyle Field was sold out for every home game for the first time.

Last season, season tickets were sold out in late March, the earliest that mark had been achieved.

So when Texas A&M officials announced Wednesday that Kyle Field will be remade into a bigger, better version, the reaction is almost a "What took you so long?"

The project will cost a projected $450 million, which is hefty for any university. But if things keep going in the current direction, and the SEC continues to dominate college football, the price tag for making Kyle Field bigger and better will be money well spent

Damn, look at all of those great moves made by aTm & how their intelligent leaders have galvanized their fanbase from the old swc to the big xii and finally to the current sec.

aTm-Prairie View lol and its staff/performance have looked nothing short of elementary during the same timeframe. Texas School For The Deaf has made better strategic moves than PV over the last 20 yrs, excepting they don't lie to the world w/ worthless drawings lol and worthless rhetoric about " we'ze gone build us'n a new stadium, heah da' peekchose."

Re: Texas A@M Football: Biggest stadium in SEC

Alumni and supporters stepping up. If they can raise 450,000 million, we should be able to raise 45,000 million.

Re: Texas A@M Football: Biggest stadium in SEC

A supporter has donated the money for HBU'S stadium. Until we realize that we need to put our money into our programs we will remain door mats.

I and a few of my family members are donating to HBU's stadium :read:. And when my attending kinfolk's grandpaps unlock their treasure chest this fall..Smart moves in recruiting by them. Corporate matching funds :). Smart. Very smart. They are 3625$ richer thanks in part to my family. :read: Obviously we'll be tailgating & supporting them f'2013.

Re: Texas A@M Football: Biggest stadium in SEC

No its Neyland. Neyland is the biggest SEC stadium. Bryant Denny is behind at 101,000.

in a couple of years???? as if it isn't now or hasn't been.

The SEC west has won the last 4 national championships, including an SEC west national title matchup

The SEC has had THE best team without question for the last 4 years (which is why I don't see why we need this playoff system) but it's not like the SEC is a monster from top to bottom. Last year, it was VERY top heavy with 4-5 teams that could compete with anybody but let's not act like that's always the case.

You do know that the fee's were approved during this same board meeting that Tamu's was?

LIAR...... Archie and Linda Dunham have donated the funds to build their stadium. It will have their name on the field and has already started being built.

name another conference that you could say that about...:scared:

btw, don't try to act like last year was out of the norm. It wasn't. Remember the national championship game between Bama and LSU, Arkansas finished at #5.
The year before that when Auburn won the title, there were 3 SEC West teams in the top 10.
You can hate (or in your case, be jealous of) the SEC all you want, but you come across as crazy when you try to deny or minimize just how dominant that conference has been.

The fools got plenty of money Frat. Texas is doing so well economically right now it is wild. They are all on the National news and Rick Perry is visiting every state trying to take folks companies and move them to Texas. LOL. So that 450 Million will be pennies for them rich oil mofos who are Aggies.

You right about that. Every team will be good in the SEC West this year except probably Auburn. But you never know even with them. They can only get better unless they get hit with probation by the NCAA. But that SEC West is already a rough division.

Yep.
I'm just saying with the addition of Texas A@M, who replace Florida as the biggest University in the SEC, the week to week pressure is gonna get worse.

Re: Texas A@M Football: Biggest stadium in SEC

Damn, another thread about some school's stadium. I read in the paper that ULL has approved plans to increase its stadium to 50,000.

Other planned projects in the three-tier master plan include a remaining $57.53 million in Cajun Field stadium renovations that would bring seating, in phases, from its current 31,000 to 50,000, and $9.7 million in major reconstruction at UL's M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field baseball stadium, including improved grandstand seating, new box suites, state-of-the-art press facilities and a new team clubhouse.

Re: Texas A@M Football: Biggest stadium in SEC

Sorry, but my conscience will never allow me to stickride the Southeastern Conference.

Oh BTW, as someone put it up, Tennessee's Neyland is the largest stadium, period (108,000-plus).

LOL.

I feel ya. I am however hoping SUmlin does well as a black coach in that conference. Same for Franklin at Vandy. Otherwise I probably would never root for any of those schools even if I did not have any affiliation with the Big Ten. Probably only UGA and Vandy are the only schools in that conference I could have rooted for. I was a big Herschel and UGA fan back in the day when he played.

Yeah Tenn Stadium is the largest. For how long, who knows.

Probably because they stuck it to LSU that game and burst their BCS bubble. LOL. He is a fellow Jag so I am sure he don't have no love for lSU. Like I don't have for Ole Piss and State.
