And that's the conundrum and why it amazing to me that people are so FOR term limits(only for partisan reasons though is my belief); if you get them, that only means the terms will be limited when YOUR party finally gains power/control-duh, not to mention black politicians in the states that get elected at the state level. I mean if you have term limits, that means John Conyers must go, the gruff throat guy from NY must go, Maxine Waters must go, Artur Davis of Alabama (the first new age highly intelligent black politician to represent a heavily black district carved out of Alabama by years of redistricting battles) must go,, not just the buggieman republican/conservatives would be affected.

Plus too,, what if a senator of your state finally after 12 years gains a powerful seat on some committee in Washington (could be a dem or a rep), you telling me you want to see them limited when they could be there doing good things(errrrrr, sending pork to,, yeah that's right, everybody talks about pork like it's so bad; that's only when you are not getting it. you telling me that even if you are a staunch democrat you don't want Trent Lott funnelling millions in research dollars for example to MS universities, even if HBCUs aren't getting as much as we think we should be getting?? give me a break. :rolleyes:) for your state? :confused:

I think term limits are knee-jerk horse dung partisan non-sense from disgruntled factions of both sides used to try to even the score through the courts/through law when they can't through the vote of the people when they are not in power/control.

I say leave the system alone, put forth better ideas and when you are elected there will be no term limits ON YOU if your ideas are good enough for the people to keep re-electing you. :idea: I mean, it's classic what goes around comes around that will have to work both ways; ya can't demand term limits and then resend them when your party gets into power,, at least I don't think,, :confused:
