I'll say it again...these kids today are not disciplined like they were when I grew up. That's why we have so many issues.
But who is not disciplining them? The parents who grew up with all that discipline?

Acting up in school is one thing, but a child hitting (or even raising his hand) at an adult is intolerable....ANYWHERE, school, home, etc.

I have been mad as he!! as a child, but it NEVER crossed my mind to hit my parents, teachers or ANY adult. I have brothers and they NEVER raised a hand at the folks or any adult. That little boy KNEW that was wrong, I don't care if he has NO parents.

There are certain things that kids JUST DON'T DO...PERIOD.

I believe in second chances, but he used his up in one incident...

Sad, sad, sad... Kids just can't make mistakes, well I guess black kids can't. You all are right, just line the kid up and shoot his arse, get his mamma, grandma, dad, granddad and me too for wanting the punishment NOT TO BE EXPULSION.

One thing I have learned in my 33 years of life, what goes around, comes around.

True, and in my life, I've learned the same thing , that what goes around will definitely come around. With that being the case, this little sap sucker will definitely get his little azz kicked by somebody.

Man I did not expect this thread to go this long.

Put me in the same crowd as Sperm, MH and Ntl. I beleive this kid needs to be disciplined, but I'm not sure throwing him out of school is the answer.

I'd like to think that my boys will never do this because my wife and I stay on their case everyday regarding their behavior. But, I personally know people my age that were raised by parents that ruled with an iron fist and these kids for whatever reason just stayed in trouble.

:smh: @ some of the ideas that have come out regarding discpline

I can understand what Sperm, MH and Ntl are saying. As I said before, the kids needs to be disciplined. But as always kids learn from adults. Those adults are not just the parents.

Sometimes, I blame the adults more than I do the kids because too many adults have allowed these things to occur. And these adults have not grown up and are still doing silly things themselves.

The way "we" feel about kids today is the same way the older generation felt about "us"...just know that.

.....

This is true.

I told a student if they hit me I would knock the hell out of them, pick them and knock the hell out of them again.

I don't plan on takin' any schit off some bastid child.

Tiffany Richardson, a 22-year-old student teacher says an Iberville third grader assaulted her this week.

Its a damn shame when little boys steal on the nice looking teachers. Yaw, we in trouble. I can see if he was trying to feel on her but, but he hit her. Do we as a people have a future?

When I was in the sixth grade, my best friend cursed out an 8th grade teacher from the phillipines. He was up the same day. They are just to leniant with these kids. What happened to the days of kids getting their azz whupped in front of the class by their parents, sorry, THEY MAMA. The teachers couldn't whip the kids. I wish one of my teachers would have tried to put their hands on me. But at the same time would not have disrespected them either.

The ONLY things I have said is that he shouldn't be thrown out of school and we don't know anything about his parent(s).

Yes he do. Have some of y'all forgotten that the toher kids at the school are watching. If he gets off easy(not being expelled) the others kids will literally feel that they can pimp slap a teacher when they feel like it. He crossed the line. Thats unacceptable KNOW MATTER WHAT HIS CIRCUMSTANCES ARE!

When it comes down to it, times are different. Things are going on today that would only happen in our worst nightmare when we were younger. But at the same time it can't be used as an excuse. When we start making excuses for kids without finding a solution, they will never learn how to function in society. They will find out the hard way that white people don't love them. I knew kids that acted a damn fool in class and got expelled. "It was as simple azz dat." No excuses.

Some of you people amaze me. It's almost like some just form an opinion and even if someone comes in and says something that would you make you rethink your angle, you stick with your opinion just for the sake of sticking to it.

Do you guys understand what MH, Sperm, Nt and some other folks are saying here? They aren't saying that the kid should not be punished to the maximum extent possible for what he did. I'm pretty sure they, like I do, think his little ass should have been beaten to a pulp just as the rest of you think. But you cannot ignore the fact that by expelling him, he will not be in an environment for learning. Instead he will be at home watching TV (something constructive like RAP CITY, lol) or playing his PS2 or just doing nothing. And the truth of the matter is that this would probably suit him just fine. Would he feel like he's being punished? HELLZZZ NAH!! Offer a kid a remote control in your left hand, and a book in your right hand, giving him a choice of either and see which one he chooses. This would be a vacation for the little bastid.

Keeping him in an environment where he has to learn would be punishment in itself and before any of you form an opinion, understand that I'm not talking about keeping him in school with the rest of the students. You have to have an alternative and I think most school systems do for kids like this. AGAIN FOR CLARITY, keep him in a learning system but away from the rest of the students.

It's not about letting the kid get away with anything or letting him off. It's about punishing his ass and keeping him in a learning environment. Youre letting him off when you have him sitting at home for a few days and then he comes back with that little ****ty "oh well, no big deal" attitude.

Hey, I understand the their point, BUT at the same time, the school's responsibility for the children has to end somewhere. Yes, you can call the parents when the child is misbehaving or set-up a parent teacher conference if the behavior persist. Whwn all else fails, the school is no longer responsible. You can only do so much. Thats all I'm saying.

Like I mentioned earlier, there were no comments from the parents in the article. Thats what really got my attention.
