SWAC's Most Feared Stadiums

Baton Rouge is a metro area with a population just under 1 million; it is not like driving around Lorman or Port Gipson or Vicksburg even! I can tell you, you arrived in BR way too late!
common I can get to Atlanta at 5 for a 6 o clock game .... Baton Rouge aint no huge metropolis to where it should take more than 3 hours to get to a game.

I stand corrected! That building still looks good!

Thanks, they just did some renovations inside over the last year and just installed a new video scoreboard last month.

Our campus only has three ways in. For our big games you have to be on campus by 1:00 for a 6:00 pm start. It’s so many people that just comes to tailgate/hangout it causes congestion. I never have a issue, I come on campus Friday and if I don’t stay in my camper I make sure I’m back by 7:00 am. Homecoming you need to be on campus earlier because of the parade. The main entrance is blocked off from 8ish to 12 which adds to the congestion.

I have Never been stuck in that much traffic In my life. Alcorn had more traffic than that for the 2 biggest games that ever been on campus and it didn’t take that long. Alcorn vs Jackson st. 2012 and Alcorn vs Southern in 2004. The 7 mile stretch turned into the 7 mile parking lot. And it’s only 2 ways to get to Alcorn. I wish someone still had that picture of that traffic going to the game at 5 that morning

Ive been to SU homecomings before... I just park across the hump and walk on campus.... why haven't they come up with more ways in or a shuttle system for gameday traffic?

thats nice... I like the renovations to the Baby dome from the seats to this scoreboard addition.

As a photographer the one thing I did like that they did was change the lighting to all LED. It makes the place so bright and you don't have to do much editing to your photos to brighten them up.

Grambling has a crazy home record if we are talking wins loses.
I’ve been to every SWAC stadium except the new Bama State one.
I don’t find any of them scary. You just can’t take stuff personal.

SU have way more folks on campus than Alcorn does for big games. I remember them saying it was more than 100,000 people on campus during homecoming a couple of times.

Say Hill, I'm not saying that BR is a metropolis on the scale of an Atlanta! But traveling around BR is different than traveling around a much smaller community. When I attend homecoming at SU, I usually leave my hotel by 2:00 and arrive on campus around 4:30. By the time I arrive at the SU exit off I-10, traffic has slowed drastically and crawls down Harding Blvd. to the campus. By the time you find a park, and stand in line, it is almost game time. SU is bounded on the west and southwest by the Mississippi River, and therefore only three entrances exist to the campus. You could end up sitting in traffic for 2 hours easily if you do not start out early on homecoming.
