Considering the teams that are already qualified, and if we would've won the both championships, the chances are more than good that we would've avoided the play-in game

LOL. My boy "June" George Ivory grew up together from elementary through Jr High. He went to Murrah and I went to their rival at the time Callaway. Good folks. He was All-SWAC at Valley during his playing days. I would love to steal him down to Southern. But his heart is at Valley. Should have been head coach if you ask me. But of course I am partial.

but yet, if valley can win the play in game and the hornets can win one or two in the nit it will have been a fantastic year for the lowest rated team in DI ball.
 
Let me congratulate the JSU women. I was hoping for a PV victory but called my father, a PV grad too, after I saw the score over ESPN.

So, if Valley beats Coppin St. by winning the battle of bad basketball teams in the "play-in game" and later get whipped by Memphis, you would call that a successful season? Bad basketball should not be dubbed succesful.

I doubt if Valley play in the play in game. Most likely it will be the 13 -20 Coppin St. team in the play in game!

But If North Carolina wins tommorrow Valley will end up playing Memphis. But If North Carolina looses Valley will play North Carolina, Kansas(if they win Big 12) or UCLA.

I will be burning up my Bookie phone line

and for valley to win a game would be sucessful considering the conference hasn't won a ncaa tourney game since southern did it! add that if bama state can advance out of the 1st round of the nit then you've got something to build on..... so yes, post-season wins = sucessful season...

My expectations were that our Men would lose (The James Blake of the SWAC, lots of talent, but no balls or killer instinct or mental toughness), but I did expect the PVAM ladies to win.

CONGRATS and GOOD LUCK to MVSU AND JSU in March Maddness!!! :tup: :tup: :tup:

What happened at the tourney was EXACTLY what we tried to tell yall ALL YEAR. The conference was tit for tat this year... Whatever team we sent would probably have the same outcome in the first round of the NCAA tourney... let's be real.

Well the SWAC vs MEAC for the play in game debate will still continue.

University of Texas in Arlington just won the Southland Conference title for it's first trip to the NCAA. If Northwestern had won it would have been Coppin State vs Northwestern (who is 15-17).

So you can't put Belmont or Austin Peavy in a play in with either Coppin or MVS. Both of their conferences are ranked higher.

So if your the committee, you know if you put 2 HBCu in that play in game, NAACP, Jesse Jackson and the rest of the crew will be screaming racism. It won't be because both conferences were horrible. Only 2 teams with winning records and don't even win the tourneys.

I forgot Georgia is still out there. 16-16 record and if they win 17-16 record and possible play in with Coppin State.

It can't come on until Georgia vs Arkansas is done.

Going by ESPN, they projected Arkansas winning and facing Kent State with the winner of the play in game being offered to North Carolina.

If Georgia wins, MVS should face Kent State and Coppin State vs Georgia in the play in. However UTA is 16-11 and they should be the ones facing Coppin State and not Kansas (according to ESPN). I know its thier first trip ever but come on.
 
If it comes down to it... they are gonna stick Valley in the play-in. That's fine though. MVSU should kick Coppin's a**. That will mean two games atleast for the SWAC so...

CBS just announced that it's Coppin State vs Mount St. Mary's in the play-in game. Miss Valley State is going to the tournament for real, not just to Dayton. :)
