SWAC Teams Which Never Made The NCAAS

Ironic that we never made the NCAA's, but we the last men's basketball team from the state of Louisiana to win a National Championship in Basketball.

damn I guessed on Grambling making it... but couldnt recall a year...

so I guess Gram and PB are the two who have not made it from the swac.

Wow, I guess that is something a SWAC head coach can say to a recruit, "We made the NCAA tournament".

L, all you have to do is be the best team in the worst college basketball conference.

Florida by 45 points. I just hope they don't ruin that kid's NBA chance.

Well, according to the NCAA selection committee, FAMU and Niagra are the worst 2 teams in the tournament.

As soon as I saw this thread, the first school that came to mind was Pine Bluff, i wonder why.

Well, according to the NCAA selection committee, FAMU and Niagra are the worst 2 teams in the tournament.

As soon as I saw this thread, the first school that came to mind was Pine Bluff, i wonder why.

Probably because they swept your sorry azz school this year!!!!!!:lmao:

This is a pointless thread. UAPB has been in the SWAC for 10 years. They made the jump from NAIA to D1. Schools like SMU entire program has recovered since their football program got the death penality back in the mid-80s (20 years ago). I wonder if their conference affiliates are downing them about the same?

However, the fact is UAPB hasn't been the the Big Dance and every SWAC representative that has gets blasted. So really, what is the accomplishment?

Good luck JSU and represent the SWAC well.

Do you care to explain why you think JSU has a chance against the defending national champs?

Because WE ARE JACKSON STATE.

Hell, their guys put on their shorts and tops just like ours do. I'll never have the mind frame of being inferior. Any given day their team can lose too.

Frat, every SWAC rep has not been blasted. SU played Duke respectable just last year and they were a number 1 seed. TxSU was free throws away from sending your homeboys from Arkansas to a living hell when they won it all. JSU and SU teams in 93 did the unthinkable........they won their first round games in the NCAA and NIT. And even in the second round after being down by 10 in the first half. SU played George Washington and 7'2 Yinka Dare even for the rest of the game. Not to mention the scares Alcorn put into folks back when they went. When I was at SU we played respectfully in the tourney with current Mavs coach Avery Johnson leading the way. So the SWAC has not always been drubbed in the Tourney. Florida is good and sure they are the defending champs, but it isn't like they are invincible. Hell they may just be ripe for an upset. On paper.......yes they should beat JSU by more than 10-15 points. But you just never know what might happen.

First of all the person who started this thread was doing it to be funny. So in short I take it as smack.

So why worry about the past JSU...yall better be worried about Friday when them Gators got yall by the balls. I mean I would love yall to kick their ARSE, but realistically....man yall just as much of payday as GSU is to Pitt this year.:emlaugh: Thanks for the $25K.

LOL!!! JR, you're talkin to a person who's team never been there. Heck, if it wasnt for the SWAC graciously allowing them to attend the SCG last December, he wouldnt know about that either. LOL!!!
