You said the key phrase..."if they do it to everyone." I have seen time and again (especially where AAMU is concerned,) "poor" officiating LATE in close games, that can turn the tide so to speak, giving OUR OPPONENT the benefit of the ref's hanky. I don't have to go into any details.

For the sake of the conference, I hope that something can be done about it within my lifetime.

Mike bro. please, you will never get anyone to buy into that for the simple reason that everybody gets those kinds of call.

For you to think that it's some type of targeting towards aamu is going over he edge and like someone posted earlier you don't see those type of calls in the BC, but that's probably due to the fact they select the best to call that game.

First of all, Mike didn't post that....I DID. Secondly, there's a contradiction to your post. Why in hell shouldn't ALL the officials ALL season, not be EXPECTED to competently officiate fairly and objectively EVERY GAME?

And that statement about the BEST being saved for the Bayou Classic definitely feeds the belief (by MANY folks, not just from AAMU) about the officiating in this league.

I didn't mention a d@mned thing about what the players think....this is about what my eyes have seen in the stands!! And that attempted point about the best officiatiating at the league's "showcase event" is still bullschit!!

Talk about a defeatist attitude!! Perhaps that's one of the reasons this league is looked upon the way it is by the rest of the nation.

Why in hell be incompetent all season, to attempt to look like you know what you're doing at the end of the year? That's a lame explanation if you ask me! :smh:

The NBA, NFL, MLB, and MLH use COMPETENCY in their officiating throughout the whole season! Who told you that, and why would you believe whoever did?

No sports league in this nation (college or professional) even attempts to spin their officials lack of knowledge of the game that way. Only in the SWAC would someone come up with something so ridiculous!

I'm trying not to run smack, but you A&Mers are about as feminine as they come when it comes to talking about the refs. Y'all swear the refs have a conspiracy against y'all.

I ain't talking about a judgment call. I was on the other side of the field. I don't know if the man came down in bounds or not. Or if it was really pass interference. Everybody gets screwed on those type calls.

None of the stuff anyone has mentioned compares to such a horrible application of the rules as to call a block of the QB after an INT roughing the passer.
 
We all know that SWAC Officiating is an 'long-running comedy of errors', but that's not my point (right now).

What I wanna know is: When will the SWAC Office stop letting referees with ties to certain SWAC Schools call those games????

Here's my point. When we got to Valley Saturday, and were waiting in line to pay our $3.00 for parking, a State Trooper's car came by (sirens blaring) escorting a Silver Cadillac Escalade. In the Escalade were four Officials (dressed in the 'zebras')....No big deal, right?

Why does the Escalade have a Valley tag on it????:(

And keep in mind, the driver of the Escalade was an Ofifcial too.......I'm not suggesting that he wasn't 'objective', but the SWAC Office really needs to crack down on this......

Refs in an escalade huh? I knew we were getting some bad calls and HORRIBLE spots, but naaaaaw. ..... Valley couldnt have been.

SWAC refs are horroble. We got a 15 yard penalty once, they only marked off 13. The ref they had spotting the ball had no clue as to what he was doing. Once he picked up the ball to mark off a penalty and old boy walked back and forth and back and forth....he had no clue. That Was Sad.

MIke....I feel your pain bruh....but your argument kinda falls on mute ears when you lose by 30 something, the game is televised, and the other team got 3 times as many penalities and yardage as you guys did. I could go on and on, but I digress

STHU? You can't be for real. No, it isn't new. It has been bad for year. It is getting worse every year. Whose beyotching? Refs making calls that are blantantly wrong, to the point that they appear to show favoritism, and you say STHU? Your school is also suffering from the piss poor ref calls and you say STHU?

Well, I'm not that kind of guy. Wrong is wrong. I'm not one that is silent when blantant wrong exist. I thought we were on the same LEVEL when it came to standing up for right/justice whereever we are and wherever we can.

I regret you aren't with those of us that want the SWAC to clean this up. But, you can forget expecting me to STHU about this until it is addressed. Frankly, I don't care if nothing is ever done. It want be as a result that I was silent about it in my presence. You see, my school is in the SWAC. So, those refs represent me when they do that stupid stuff. They also represent you. So, you are content with how they are representing you? Well, go ahead and STHU - I'm not.

I want hold it against you if your cool down and realize we all need to make sure the SWAC addresses this.

Each school and its alumni are responsible for the quality of their coaching staff. You need to take that up with your university and alumni family.

But, the SWAC refs are all of our (SWAC schools) refs. This BS is embarrassing to us all - or it should be.

Ladies and gentlemen,

You are getting side tracked on this best refs for the Classic stuff. With the refs being as out of control as they are currently, I seriously doubt the SWAC is monitoring its refs to be able to say what individual select group of refs they can put together for 1 particular game to have an All-star callobor staff. I think this observation is as simply as they know the entire nation is watching them and they will look like FOOLS making or not making some of the calls they make or don't make when the NBC type audience isn't watching. I some crazy calls prior to the games being on NBC at the Bayou Classic.

So, don't get hung up on that. The fact is they are hurting the quality of our SWAC football games. They are going so far as to make calls that are embarrassing for someone to make and called themselves a professional. All of this while representing you - the SWAC. That and only that is the discussion. Who cares if some get a few more worse calls than another. No one is perfect. But, that is a mistake. Viewer can tell if their was a potential for human error. However, the viewer knows when obvious bad calls are being unfairly applied. Thus, the respect of the talent and the result of the talent on that field is degraded.

The question is are you tired of how YOUR refs are representing you on a weekly bases? That is all.

Now you see how we felt when we said the things we said! This is exactly what we got out of all of you whenever we made the complaints before. I'm just giving you guys what you gave us. Don't get mad. Now all of a sudden when it's affecting you guys, it's a problem.

Some of the AAMU folks who work for the SWAC executive office will most likely be in town for Homecoming this week. I might need to have a chat with Bro. Jay Roberson.

I don't need to be told how to talk with these people! I know how to address an issue, and interact with folks on a diplomatic level.

I don't intend to say anything about cheating. I sure as hell do intend to inquire as to whether or not anything can be done about the poor officiating of MANY if not MOST of the refs in this league. I keep reading where folks are talking about it having been a problem for years now, so my concern is (and will be expressed as such,) as to why nothing has been done about it.

A petition, and 10 cents will get us a dime! I'm not going that route, either!
