Swac Notes Week #1

1. Alabama A&M-A big victory over Tennessee State prevail A&M to hold down the #1 spot but don't expect Grambling to lay down either.
2. Southern-Anytime you beat an good MEAC team like Bethune that does confidence for your team in the SWAC. Southern will beat MVSU easily and anytime you can't score more than 10 pts on UAPB something is wrong.
3. MVSU- You might be 1-0 but your offense better wake up this week and Valley played a good defensive game.
4. Grambling-When was the last time GSU started out 0-2. Look for the Tigers to bounce back and beat Alabama A&M.
5. Texas Southern-A big win over PV was good and anytime TSU beats Praire View you better watch out. Things are looking up in Houston for TSU.
6. Jackson State- A win is a win and I like those Ohio State tranfers on JSU team. JSU is no slouch this year and thats a warning to all SWAC teams.
7. Alcorn State- The right spot @ number 7 in the poll and when was the last time ASU started off 0-2. It could be a long season for the BRAVES and Johnny Thomas job might be on the line this week.
8. UAPB-Look for a big crowd this week in Pine Bluff to watch the Golden Lions. UAPB will score this week on Alcorn and if UAPB loses look for Coach Mo's job to be on the hot seat. The loss was not good for UAPB but the way the defense played helped soothe some of the fans wounds.
9. Praire View-Lost a tough game against TSU but look for PV to bounce back this week.
10. Alabama State-No wonder why they were pick so low in the SWAC this year. Need to show more offense against upcoming SWAC schedule but ASU will get better.
 



UAPBPower do u have something against MVSU???.........other than the fact that we have beat u the past two years. All of your posts regarding MVSU on this board are salty.

Right!!! Why Valley can't beat Southern Again? Maybe the refs will get in the way and take the game thats the only thing I see. Nelson is ready this week!!!!!

Nelson isn't even the best QB in the SWAC. JC Lewis in the best QB in BCF, maybe the best in 1-aa.

HATERS stay on your JOB!!!!!! Everybody hating on MVSU lol!! I never thought I would see this happening. I remember when Valley wasn't winning a thing, and people on this board wanted The Valley out of the SWAC and now that we can win and have the power and ability to win they don't like us. Thats the Black people's way!!!

He gonna have to show me because HE didn't beat us last year, he didn't look good against TnSU and if he can't get by Grambling this week, you can quiet this noise.

Now,a s for JC being the best in 1-AA, I don't know yet. But, he was definitely the best in Week One.

Kelcy Luke didn't have to pass all night. You can do that when you have a running game. He was 13-18 (72%) for 136 yards, 2 TDs, and 13 carries for 74 yards, and 1 TD. All for a QB rating of 161.2.

He didn't beat y'all last year???? Man, stop posting just to post. Last year against SU, Kelcy Vick was 12-16 for 170 yards, and ran for 51 more. J.C. Lewis was 17-28 for 157 yards, 0 TDs, 5 sacks, and -23 yards running with 1 touchdown on the ground. And you say Kelcy didn't show you anything? :retard: If you ask me, Kelcy beat you soundly.
 



Back up your statement with more than just talk. Just statistically alone, he was the 3rd best returning QB in the SWAC. I mean, I'm sure if we couldn't run the ball at all like SU last year, Kelcy would've had to pass every play too. :rolleyes:

What makes JC better than Kelcy? Seriously.

PLEASE prove it. Sometimes yall nigs just talk to hear yourself talk... Im not saying he is the BEST qb in the SWAC.... but he is the most dangerous qb in the SWAC. He can beat you in two ways.

SU Jag just doesnt know what the hell he is talking about... The South Carolina transfer qb from TN State is better than JC (IMO). ALL JC showed me last year is that he can "hit da flo"

And this is coming from teh man that said TnSU would win the commissioner's cup. I guess passing for almost 3,000 yds your first year at QB while playing less games than the rest of the SWAC don't count.

P.S. He's also the most accurate QB. TnSU QB ain't the 1-AA Player of the week.

***** please... SU has a ONE dimensional offense.. you had ONE yard rushing... hell you had to pass the entire game.

You are crazy if you think Nelson and his 30% completion % against UAPB is better than Luke this year.... Landers???? enough said. Like I said Luke may not be the BEST qb... damn sure aint 3 better in the conference than him... and he is the most dangerous qb. We have an Oline... and a running game, he doesnt have to throw bombs the entire game.
 
Dude, you HAD to pass the ball. You only ran for 1 DAYUM YARD against BCC. 1, uno, I, i, 一个. Do you realize how sad that is? Don't let JSU see this. In a one dimensional offense I guess you can't do nothing else, but throw.

Man, I didn't know y'all running game got worse. :(

Didn't say he wasn't dangerous. I said he's not better than JC and not in the top 3. I can guarantee you that Luke won't make 2nd team All SWAC. If you can't stop us through the air. Why should we run?

P.S. Michael Vick is dangerous but he ain't a better QB than Peyton Manning.

What does running have to do with being a good QB? H3ll Edgrin James avg 100 + yds a game but Peyton Manning still throws for 300+ yds. Stop trying to reach. Look at JC's completion % and how many times he throws the ball. You can't deny that it's amazing. Look at how many int's he threw last year. Luke is good but he ain't the best. Stevie Wonder can see that.
