alcorn-Nate Hughes
alcorn-Charlie Spiller
su-vernon
bama-glover
su-ard

After having a great Spring game, Hank Edwards of Texas Southern should have his share of catches/yards too. I'd say, put him on your "Ones to Watch" list.

Mose Harris and Tim Abney both will be lethal this year. Slot receiver Henry Tolbert was gamebreaker in Spring. Had good first year last season with big plays and long td catches/runs.

I'm telling ya'll to look out for #5 Tyrone Timmons and #85 William "Dallas" Smith, if we could ever get those boys the ball it would be over for SWAC secondaries!!!!!!

Barring any injuries during two-a-days, it appears that Chris Jones will be 100% for the first time in his career at JSU. He'll be hell for opposing defenses.

JSU's Jeremy Handy just might surprise some folk this year.

I was thinking the same thing. Imagine Tim Manning with good hands. Newcomer Byron Johnson will catch folks off guard as well. Neither of these two along with Chris Jones will put up Lawrence Story/ T.C. Taylor-type numbers, but they will be much more efficient than that corp. Both had an excellent spring.

i forgot about tim abney.we got another kid form eugene high school who balled out of control in the spring game. he is like 6'3 190. we got so many rec. i forgot about some. i look for tolbert to be the x factor. we also have frank green a transfer from some tennesee school who will also long snap for us. a rec long snapping .you can't beat that.we are really loaded. our tight ends are world class too. i am looking for antonio shannon 6'4 245 4.5 40. this kid had a scholarship offer from nebraska. not a phone call but scholarship papers.he turned it down to play in the swac.we also got a tight end from op walker who only played one year of football who is a monster 6'4 280. he may be moved .he had offers from oregon state and and others.

Did someone say SUper fresh?

JRock...you must be talking about Gerard Landry out of Lutcher, right?

Landry (6'4" - 205 or 210 lbs.) I read in the recruiting mag he was clocked at 4.5/40...

I'm telling folk already that he will be offensive frosh of the year, if not all-SWAC...my co-workers saw him when Lutcher beat Amite in the 3A semis last fall..and they say Landry's a beast...

Yep. He was truely amazing and was highly recruited from my understanding. We are loaded once again with great receivers.

Our receivers should benefit from having a veteran qb and an experienced offensive line. We'll probably be more balanced...I hear that Ab Kaauun was a beast this spring!

That game was rebroadcasted on cox last night.

He was on all of the Louisiana Blue Chip lists. Did Ricks have an impact on signing him. Tulane usually gets a lot of players from Lutcher but this kid made the second best choice.

SU should look at Terrance Jones again at QB (recruit out of Port Sulphur two years ago -- hear he is switching to DB). He played in an offense similar to Evangel (passed for over 4,000 years in his junior year - led his team to back to back state championship games -- won his senior year). I think he was either the MVP (or definitely 1st team) of the All-Metro team (New Orleans area schools). Port Sulphur regularly competed with 5A schools -- like Higgins.

Tulane has always recruited St. James Parish well (they got a few from St John too). Pete has come a long way with his recruiting. There was a time he could not recruit Lacumba.

GSUper you are a sick puppy. :emlaugh: Anywho, S.U. is really deep and talented at that position. You may be right about TJ but I have not heard anything about him becoming a DB. I did hear a little bit about him possible playing WR. I don't know how SWAC secondaries are going to be able to contain S.U. passing game. L about 3 of them have legit 4.3/4.4 speed with good hands. That mamouth offensive line is going to give Rick's all day, week and month to get the ball to them. And we have a nice suprise for all of you all with a back that has been clocked at 4.3. My advice: Catch S.U. in 2005 and just maybe you have a chance.

CORRECTION: He made the best and SUperior choice.

The rumor mill initially had Landry pegged to go to Colorado (Yes, that colorado).. but he allegedly said he wanted to major in engineering somewhere closer to Lutcher...and the fact he could get immediate PT on the yard along with the DB torture known as the 2003 Bayou Classic didn't hurt either :jump:

Landry will make an impact late in the year once he learns the offense. Unfortunately we are loaded at WR, so he may end up being a situational player until he grasp the whole offense.

For Terrance to play next year he will switch to DB. There is a lot of room for him to get a starting spot at DB because we lost so many starters.
