SWAC HOOPS - Conference Play 3/2/09

Cheeks is a Willowridge High alum.....thank us for him but Petty and Harmason has been the steady forces...spot play, which is what they do only at home, ain't gonna win much.....Green technically didn't set the world on fire but he got a guy named Larry Cox (thanks Scott Monarch) which made everyone else much better

Valley is alright with me as I'll joke about them with Ashley Robinson, etc.....however, since the SWAC Tournament is away from Mississippi...uh oh...:emlaugh:

RIGHT! (and they don't have larry cox anymore)
Last year, he won those games on the road for them...

I've just been sitting back laughing b/c those "mean greens" have been hitting the threads hard since they beat JSU.
They even ventured off from the basketball thread and created their own "we beat jsu" thread

Wonders if they're going to start a "Valley Loses to _insert school here_ in the 1st Round" thread. :lecture:

*note: VALLEY teams play HORRIBLE whenever their fans are silent. They don't start playing with energy until their entire gym starts cheering.
They better bus all of itta bitty to B'ham if they plan on repeating Champs!

translation....we got whipped so referees weren't much of a factor :emlaugh:

No, we loss out from a lack of execution. Had we made the 10-12 basic layups and free throws the out come would have been different. The winner of this game was determined by the two teams and not the incompetent refs.:clap:

You do know that JSU leads the SWAC in attendance this year...and we've done that quite a few times. Source

Man I kno u MVSU alum but we all know about the suspect stuff that goes down in the Delta! Last year we had a situation where the score clock MYSTERIOUSLY got unplugged TWICE before each of a players free throws with like 2:00 to go. Miraculously the shot clock worked fine for the rest of the Devils free throws down the stretch. Kinda makes you say hmmmmmmmmmmm....
