SWAC HOOPS 1/8/07


Difference in this game was GUARD PLAY.... you open up your post with GUARD play.... SU doesnt have any guards... so everyone knew where they were going to do the entire game.. Second half JSU collapsed down on Lewis... denied her the ball and caused turnovers off of SU tryin to get the ball in the post... With guard play SU could be tough... but until then they will continue to struggle.

It probably doesn't look good to you, because we don't have any guards, but 3, and 2 are freshman. The rest of the players are Forwards and Centers. Next year alot of both. :D

All of our guard have either been injured or flunked out of school. We have a foward playing shooting guard and a stoned footed senior running the point( she never got into the game before our other guards flunked out or had been injured).
 
sad to say SUJAG probably is right... Su's fontcourt has height and weight. Im sure they are the best frontcourt in the SWAC... but NO GUARDS...somebody has to get them the ball. All the defense has to do is double down on them because the guards arent going to make the 3... they werent even trying to shoot it. 90% of the turnovers were from SU's guards trying to get the ball into the post while the post players were double and tripple teamed.

Defforest with 10 points (2 3 pointers). JSU with 4 points off offensive rebounds and JSU announcers wanna say SU has size.
 
Trey Johnson is killing JSU now... he needs to learn the definition of TEAM. You cant pull up shoot a 3 on a 1 on 4 break... The commentators are saying the same thing... he needs to work on other parts onf his game... NO defense and he aint passing the ball to NOBODY. If he touches the ball on offense, he is shooting. He has already missed about 8 shots.
 
Catria Givens is JSU's best overall player IMO... You know he is going to give his all on the offensive and defensive side of the ball...I see why Trey never gets any fouls... he plays ZERO defense.... deny him the ball on defense and he will become frustrated and when he finally does get the ball he is going to shoot shoot from wherever he is..

as Im typing his... A MIRACLE... Trey passes the ball!!!!!!!!!

btw, I cant belive JSU didnt press, because SU's point guard can not handle the ball at all. He's a turnover machine waiting to happen
