alot of people in montgomery felt the same. well, his offense is good if he has the players for it. if he was at a big time school he'd be great, but it's just hard to recruit guys to that system at this level. actually he'd even be great in the MVC. if's he's got the bigs and one or two guys who can shoot, with the defense he gets his teams to play....it's all over. his first trip to the ncaa tourney w/ bama state, they were matched up w/ MI State. they run the same deliberate half court style as spivery. half time 29-25 msu. 2nd half the spartans came out running and spivery couldn't keep up. other than recruiting issues, that's the only thing I question about spivery, his unwillingness to make the adjustment. they can be playing a squad literally wearing cement boots, and he'll still walk it up and run the offense. I still like him better than those coaches that just roll the ball out to half court and say...run! that's not basketball, that's athletball, i e henry bibby, sampson at indiana (lost to duke b/c they couldn't run a set play) and a ton of others.
