Sunday the Alcorn Men's basketball team will host Oakwood College at the Davey Whitney complex at 2 P.M. that game can also be heard on wprl.org.

I think we will have the SWAC POTY this year..... Tabb was named preseason defensive player of the year... but the things he does at 6'5 are crazy.... he is a monster.... had 18 points and 15 rebounds last night.... picking up right where he left off at the end of the season last year.
 
We may win a few of those nonconference games, men wise. Just don't have the depth to pull out games like Iowa State last night in which we were down by 2.

With our women, turnovers are going to kill us once again and we were out rebounded by ULL despite being bigger. Not a good sign. We need some bangers down low.
 
BTW... dissapointed in both mens and womens team.... mens team was down by 9 to Miles at the half (worst first half of Bulldog basketball I had ever seen)... now they did change the lineup and held Miles to 15 second half points and won by 20.

Women jumped on Miles then let them come back within the last 5 minutes.... we had a 20 point lead and won by 10. Freshmen classes looked GREAT.... but we need to improve.

She scored 5 points with 3 assist and 3 steals

I saw the schedule, we can definitely compete with those mid-major teams on our schedule.
 
The Alcorn Vs Oakwood Mens basketball game can be heard on WPRL.ORG. Tipoff is 3 pm pre game is 2:55 today.

damn Oakwood usually keeps a pretty nice squad..... Oakwood has become our biggest basketball rival now... we usually get 6000 for that game... they always play us hard... but if they lost to another SWAC team by 40, it shouldnt be close this year.

Those guys were tired. They played a game last night,left Huntsville at 6am,had bus trouble and on the court for a 3:30 game. I was listening to the game and was like,this is not the Oak that play A&M hard every year. Then Charles told us about their last 24hrs......WOW.

I have watched videos of Oakwood and A&M games and it is hype.
They can shot some 3pts.
