Where else would Cador be?

The players were ready, all decked out in their spikes, T-shirts and salt-lined caps.

Assistant coach Fernando Puebla, as usual, had the afternoon mapped out.

The boss, Roger Cador, was ready for another day of work with his Southern University baseball team.

Everything was right. Except the weather.

A hard-driving thunderstorm turned Lee-Hines Field into a virtual lake Saturday, wiping out yet another preseason practice.

With the season opener fast approaching, the Jaguars have completed only one intrasquad scrimmage.

Such is life.

“We can’t use anything for excuses,” Cador said. “We’re going to at least make sure that our young people understand that we have to prepare for the long run.”

And so Cador waits.

I was talking about you and baseball talk lol. But since you put it that way, y'all couldn't win until some Jags showed y'all how :) .

Alcorn will be good, A&M and Bama State will be improved. Texas Southern can make a move and Southern will be about the same. Baseball is exciting.

217 215 Southern U. Southwestern 29-19-0 11-9-0 3- 3- 0 11-7-0 4-0-0

The NCAA RPI ranks Southern as the highest rated HBCU if that means anything

We will miss Frazier, but we have a transfer who should contribute. I think one of our players from last year will bat about the same numbers as him, he just need to work on his defense a little bit. I can't wait to see how hungry this team is after making it to the championship last year and losing.
