They might say a word or two about softball but other than that, stick to bowling and small group cheerleading with them.....
 



Come on now... this is BASEBALL... who gives a damn... JROB I wasnt at the game in Jackson the same reason you werent at the game in Huntsville. Do you honestly think I would travel for a BASEBALL game? Thats like me bringing up the us kicking your ass in soccer, volleyball, bowling, tennis, and softball this year... who gives a damn?

I can tell you SU fans care about baseball. Most Swac teams have some fans that make the out of town games. SU had a nice group, me included, that went to La for the MLB Urban Classic. Matter of fact, SU had just as many or more fans than Usc and Ucla, real talk. But like GR said you wouldn't understand because you aren't a baseball school.

You dont understand what Im saying... It was ONE person from TSPN at the AAMU and JSU baseball game that was here and he LIVES in Huntsville... so why ask why WE werent there?

Even 7 year olds had brooms out because of the four game sweep.:emlaugh:

I can't wait to see the fans in attendance when we play Texas Southern and PV. I heard some of SU fans yelling in the background against Alcorn in Lorman on that radio broadcast. :nod:

Having the offense hang a 10 spot early each game always does a pitching staff good.

Any concerns about Southern losing No. 1 starter Chase Richard to an arm injury were lessened quickly with two 10-run innings Saturday as SU stretched its win streak to eight games by sweeping a doubleheader from Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

First, leadoff hitter Romey Bracey ripped a triple to the right-field corner to ignite a 10-run first inning and SU finished with 17 hits and a season high in runs in a 21-8 blowout at Lee-Hines Field.

Then, Calvin Anderson homered and tripled and Sherrard Brooks turned his first Western Division start into his first divisional and complete-game win, striking out 10 and getting stronger deep in the game, 12-5.

?We?re just feeding off the win streak we?re having,? Anderson said. ?Everybody?s doing their job, doing all the little things.?

Uapb took the lead in the 9th 11-9, Yeocy(SU's closer) didn't have it today. SU won on a 2 run shot by Brad McDavid 12-11 :) . This team might be special.

I think the other students athletes have stop supporting baseball. Hill, when JSU was here in HSV, heck the baseball coach himself wasn't at the first game, he made it mid-ways through the second game. He had football scrimmage so he left the team in the care of a volunteer coach. (I think the white is a volunteer)

I remember when I first moved here, before Coop took the baseball field and turned it into practice fields, they would play games with practice balls. I love baseball, I wanted to purchase some game balls and donate to the team. More people support the softball than the baseball team.

Victor Franklin did the talking. Then Brad McDavid did the crushing.

After Franklin?s words got Southern University re-focused, McDavid blasted a game-winning, two-run home run over the center-field wall as SU rallied for four runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to snare a dramatic 13-12 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Sunday at Lee-Hines Field.

Franklin?s talk was needed after SU blew a 9-3 lead through four innings. UAPB scored nine unanswered runs, including six in the ninth, to take a 12-9 lead heading into the bottom of the inning.

?Ninth inning, we?re down three and we come back and get three,? McDavid said. ?That?s great hitting. That shows we can play any time, any day.?

This is so sad....this is the reason the SWAC should be D2. Schools like this bring the whole conference down
 
Braves Baseball adds Razorbacks to schedule



Alcorn State, MS---With the Braves on the fast track, Coach Willie McGowan, Sr., felt that it was time to add competition from a larger conference such as the SEC. The Braves (21-7, 10-5 SWAC) will travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas on Wednesday to face the Razorbacks of Arkansas (19-15, 5-9 SEC). McGowan hopes to evaluate his ballclub and thinks that this may help his team become stronger for the SWAC tournament. He stated that ?the team?s reaction was positive and is happy that the team will get the experience.? Lee Johnson and Joel Del Grande also feel positive about this game and think that this will be a good game between the two schools.
