SWAC Baseball Midweek May 10th-12th

Per NCAA rules, games in any sport against junior colleges do not count as an official contest.

Someone may want to notify the SWAC and Southern regarding NCAA rules and I would hope that neither entity includes the game as part of their official report to the NCAA.

Im just saying whats on the site somebody reported it I doubt it was SU stats guy he does a really good job with there stuff may have got it from the paper or something

DAMN, that's a COMMUNITY college?!!! LOL!!

Per our friends at Wikipedia, "Louisiana State University Eunice (LSU Eunice) is a community college located in Eunice, Louisiana, that currently serves around 3,300 full and part-time students. LSU Eunice currently offers degrees and diplomas up to the associate's degree level. It is affiliated with the LSU System."

The only way the SWAC office had it is it were reported by the school - not faulting the Southern stats guy as he does do a good job - but this game should not have been reported nor counted towards Cador's W-L record, Southern stats, etc.

SU was the home team so he had to report it.

You do not report exhibition games - which this game was since the NCAA does not consider games against two-year institutions as a 'counter' for your schedule.

SU knows lol. The others dont seem to realize it.

Great exhibition Gram just glad we swung the bats better don't know who we pitched but we swung the bats and scored some runs finally

I swear I've heard that before. It would be wise to allow the teams to duke it out because the redundant phrases year in and year out makes u look bad.

Yall have yall little fun now. Its going to be mighty quiet next SUnday :) .

SUjag -

You excited that Southern will be able to leave Baton Rouge this year if they win the SWAC tournament? SWAC champ would likely go to to Southern Miss, Texas A&M or Rice - but still somewhere different than LSU.

I hope USM does not host a regional or SFASU win the Southland. IF SU win the SWAC I would like them to go to Rice. Rice does not have that many pitchers and USM is capable of getting to Omaha because they have the best pitchers to me besides Vandy.

GRAMBLING — Just in case the rest of the Southwestern Conference forgot, the Grambling baseball team sent a not-so-subtle-reminder Friday in its final game before the conference tournament starts, that it is, in fact, the defending SWAC champion.

GSU overcame a four-run deficit in the bottom of the ninth and beat Jackson State, 11-10, giving the Tigers plenty of confidence and momentum heading into Wednesday's first round game.

"That's big for us, because the tournament is going to be a hectic environment," said GSU senior Adrian Turner, who scored the winning run.

Grambling (22-24 overall, 14-10 SWAC) trailed 10-6 entering the bottom of the ninth, and designated hitter Brian Sinnette led off with a slow dribbler down the third base line. He beat the throw to first for a single, and right fielder Brian Knuckles followed with a base hit to left field.
