Good luck Coach...

(Yeah, he's definitely from SU)

I think he will get a lot of support from AD Mathieu in terms of a recruiting budget and full complement of scholarships. Will be interesting to see if he tries to build with pitching/defense. Definitely hope so cuz that's the name of the game in baseball...pitching and defense.

It's "Fernando Puebla" and yeah actually he is.

Fernando%20Puebla.gif

Fernando Puebla is in his first year as an assistant coach with the Southern University Baseball Team. He was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. Puebla played three years for the Jaguars (2001-2003), compiling three straight championships. As a Jaguar, he earned a .365 career batting average, and was a member of All-SWAC and All-Tournament teams.

The Tampa Bay Devil Rays drafted Puebla in 2003. He played in the New York-Penn League (Single A) before he decided to step in as an assistant coach.

Brang it on bruh...this is the sports board.

Hope Rey can turn it around at Gram... Any revenue the baseball team can muster will be good. I hope he and Mathieu will seek out opportunities in the preseason part of the schedule to play some games of interest.
