Super Bowl MVP Question

I thought that in the past, with the exception of when Ray Lewis won, the Super Bowl MVP was special guest and a part of the Disneyland/Disneyworld commercials. I noticed a commercial this afternoon featured Brad Johnson. Did I misunderstand the MVP role, or has Disney changed their practices?

Once before the Disney commercial featured the winning qb and not the MVP. I've forgotten which it was, but it did happen. My "rememory" is getting bad these days!

In one of the Super Bowls the 49ers won, Jerry Rice was named MVP and Joe Montana did the disney commercial.

Disney usually makes a pre-arrange agreement with the high profile players who they think will be MVP and makes the commercial right after the game.

Right....but Brad Johnson???? :xeye:

Hell...Sapp, Keshawn, and D Brooks are all more of a "high profile" player than Johnson! This clown was on the verge of not having a starting spot half the season.

Brad is the white dude...so I guess that makes it legit...:look:

We discussed this at the super bowl party I was at. This is BS. I remember when Jerry Rice got mad, and they had to make another commercial with Joe and Jerry in it. The Ray Lewis thing I guess I can kinda understand coming off the murder thing. But Brad Johnson??? That is crazy. Their will never be a white MVP and a black dude show up in the Disney commercial.

America the beautiful.............what a joke! Another form of racial profiling. Those negros were profiled not to be in Disney's commercial.

Why didn

In past Superbowls, the MVP would make the Disney Commercials. Why did the protocol change? I never seen a head coach do a Disney Commercial and Brad Johnson wasn?t the MVP.

Cause he was the great white hype.... he lead a bunch of brother to the super bowl when there past black coach could not do it....

Just my take on it.

Man can you people please stop making every issue a racial issue. Dayum.

Truth be told, who expected a safety to be an MVP. In most cases, Disney inks deals with the high profile players. And usually these are offensive players because most MVP's are on offense. And in a game like Sundays where there was no clear cut MVP of the game......teams go with the winning teams QB, because that is the most high profile position on the field.

Richard Dent, Ray Lewis, L. Brown of the Cowboys, all defensive MVP's. Non did the Disney commercial.

Now as far as Rice is concerned. He has an argument. Hell if you were Disney would you want a player no one knows as your spokesperson? Man Dexter got the Caddy that goes with MVP. Now if that had been given to Johnson, then I would understand.

Suge,

We agree on a lot of things...this is not one of them. I assure you that if John Lynch had been the MVP, he would have done the Disney Commercial. This has nothing to do with offense or defense but who looks like middle America the most.

Two years ago, Ray Lewis was MVP, and he didn't get the advert because of extenuating circumstances. Besides, Disney likes getting the "name guy", not a backup safety. That's just solid marketing, nothing else.

I don't think he cared too much about being in that commercial. Brotherman got his MVP Escalade!!! That's all that matters to him!! Right on bro!!!

Well, Disney can kiss my ass. That's not solid marketing, that's bull****.

Who's the QB for the Bucs?

Who's the SB MVP?

Guess which has more name recognition?

The MVP didn't do the commercial because he's a no name black guy.

Notice how the adjective that you used to descibe dude was.....NO NAME!

And you are right GR, if Lynch was MVP he would have been in the commercial. But you don't think the same would have been the case had it been Derrick Brooks? Look I would be right there with you guys had it been a big name player on defense that won MVP and they still had Brad Johnson do the commercial. But that wasn't the case.

Dexter Jackson said that he felt slighted; but Cadillac gave him an Escalade! he said he will drive by disneyland and honk his horn on his way to six flags, so I guess he'll get over it PDQ! this is one of the main reasons why I won't go to disneyland, or disneyworld; black people are good enough to give them money, but when it comes down to it; they will go for the whites every time!

I Love It!!

The answer is no. Middle america cant relate. Now maybe if Barber had won the MVP, he would have a chance....thats the only one.

Derrick Brooks would have done it, as would have Warren Sapp. They are KNOWN, while Jackson isn't. Hell, the only reason that he's a starter now is that the former starter is with the Jets now. I know who HE is only because Kyle Turley almost decapitated him after dude tried to do the same to Aaron Brooks.

Almost. Damien Robinson is with the Jets because Tony Dungy told Rich McKay not to sign him because Dexter Jackson was ready to replace him.

Dex is the stuff. Watched Robinson long enough to replace him. He will never hit like Lynch, but has made the transition from CB to FS.

Remember, Disneyworld is only 75 miles from Tampa. They are all going...and soon.
