Maybe the article was referring to controlling SU's activities/finances, and not the entire classic.
About y'all paying NBC to be on TV, that's been known for years.
Exactly

Yep, because Floyd did say he miss Baton Rouge well Louisiana..![]()
Now, nothing is wrong with our library. Classrooms you must be talking about, but all the other stuff in the back is being torn down for space. I heard they were going to put the Sports Complex by the old JROTC buildings after they tear them down.
Um...I doubt you can easily tear down the old ROTC buildings by the river. I think that's part of the National Historic Site part of the campus. The Intramural Sports Complex will be where Thomas and Baranco once stood...with Octavia, NOrth and those others being cleared for fields.. At least, that was the plan when I was on the yard.
I know right."We pay NBC to get on NBC,? Anderson said, noting the television deal for the Bayou Classic. ?They?re not paying us. We pay them the $1 million.?
I am scratching my head on this one.
I thought NBC was paying both SU and Grambling. It does not makes sense to me. I mean NBC is probably grossing over 6 million in ad revenue from sponsors from airing the classic. NBC is paying Notre Dame over million dollars a telecast. So SU has to pay NBC to be aired on TV??????? If that's true that ain't right by no fugging means.
This is the Sports Board. Is the Capital City Classic televised?
I know and I never knew until now. FUGGG NBC AND GIVE US THE MONEY.
We, THE SWAC, gotta set our own standard and ENFORCE it.
For real. Yeah, BET I wouldn't care. That would be nice but NBC is being an azzhole. A COMPLETE AZZHOLE.That's all I'm saying.
Dude was right.
They paying Notre Dane all that money............Basically $1 million a game yet they wanna f over us and hope we happy just to be on TV.
Like Tony Montana said:
Heck..................I rather the B.C. be on B.E.T., BAD ANNOUNCERS AND ALL, and ya'll get a fair deal instead of this rip off.
The payout we all thought they was giving ya'll was the reason I was all for the B.C. date not being moved.
Now that someone has gotten mad enough to tell the truth about NBC, I say make them pay or F-Them.![]()

ONE MILLION DOLLA PAYOUT TO BE ON TV????????!!!!!!! HAHAHHAHHAHHAHAHHAHAHA!!!!!!!!
Its not like we pay that money up front... What the article is talking about is that the main Campus puts up the team, band, etc... so the main campus is sharing money with the rest of the campuses for money that the main campus(athletic dept, band dept) put up for the event.. The Million dollars are the teams, band, stadium, etc...
OK...you all can't be this clueless. You all act as if Gram and SU pays $1 million dollars to NBC and don't get nothing back in return.
GSU and SU (the BC committee) pays NBC for the air time and then the BC committee makes its money from the ad spots.
Believe me, its not called the STATE FARM Bayou Classic for nothing. State Farm has to pay a premium to be listed as the title sponsor. The fees that State Farm pays alone to be the title sponsor likely pays for the air time to NBC. This does not include the money that is paid by other sponsors (Ford, Coca-Cola, The Marinies, Southwest, etc.)
You guys can play dumb if you want to, but there isn't a HBCU classic game out there that has the kind of payout that BC does.
