SU Band, Get Ready.............

Hey SU,
When you guys come to Houston to play the Cougars, get ready for the treatment most HBCU band are getting these day at most PWS.

There will be a UH representative in the band area coordinating the visiting bands activities, so that they will not interfere with the PA announcer duties or the host band.

You will NOT have the option to play whenever you choose to. I respect that, BUT
Please, please, please, please, please, DON?T PERFORM WITH THE HOST BAND AT HALFTIME.

That's how ULM(Northeast) did us last year.

Yea, none of that performing with the host band crap. I HATED WHEN WE DID THAT A COUPLE YEARS AGO!!!
 



man them white folks gonna throw all kinds of flags on SU if they do that lol! Trust me a lot of cheating will go on in this game! Them white folks aren't going to let SU come and in take over! Trust Me! Hell they are already going to put SU's band on the same side as them, i hate that set up at U of H!
 
Oh yea, they will be tossing those yellow flags left and right. After two flags, ole Pete will be in the band director's ass...LOL
 
It don't matter because The Jukebox don't really play a whole lot of songs while the ball is in play. You'll mainly hear chants like defense jags, let's go jaguars, or the fight song ect.
 
First off...folks, I know this will be an HBCU vs a DI game...but, lets stop labeling/dividing things into black and white.

Second...to big fellow..you'll be pleasantly surprised at how "professional" the Human Jukebox is. No unnecessary playing during the game. SU's problem with the refs really are amlost non-existant, considering the reputation the SWAC has proceeding them. But, best believe, if that ball is dead...expect the hammer. The hammer UH fans and alum will be jamm'n to all night....:tup:


With that...have your arse in the designated place, at the designated time...so, the "S" can designate that arse....:wavey:
 
SU needs to krank on them boyz USM tried to keep us shut my crab year! We wasnt having that SU blow on them boyz!

Slow your roll bro, I witness the performances of the Human jukebox at least twice a year, and I don't know where that professional stuff came from, I was just passing on some info as I recalled it when Grambling came to the Rob.

I attend about 7 or 8 SWAC game a year; therefore I know some of the bands play practically the entire game. I know SU is the exception to the rule with the pom pom thing, and "defense Jags defense" chants. So don't assume that I'm not familiar with the culture of our HBCU bands. Just giving the fans a heads-up.
 
Thats strange... I didnt see that when Gramb played against UofH... I wonder if they did that against the Ocean?

SU doesn't listen to them folks. When SU played Tulane, they blasted the speakers every time the Jukebox played. You think that stoped them from playing. Ell No.

The only reason those PWC's do that is because they don't wanna get outdone by an HBCU.

Like NT said, what are they going to do, kick them out. As long as they don't play while the ball is in play, its nothing they can do about it.
 
I think UH will be hospitable to the SU BAND. I mean they rolled out the red carpet for Gram. I think they will do the same for SU, however will we see the Cougar band perform with the Jukebox like they did with GRAM?

If my memory serves me correctly, TxSU performed alone as well as with UofH. I think that gaves the members in UofH band the opportunity to learn something new and different. It was funny trying to see some of them dance. UofH kind of had something like an instrumental song playing in the background while they tried to do their thing. They were hospitable. There wre no issues when it came to playing.

If the Cougar band is going to perform with the Jukebox, that means that the Jukebox will have to teach them a routine/drill within 1 day unloess they come to Houston before Friday.
 
I doubt SU performs with U of H. I know Mr. J said he wasn't going to do that when we asked him out in Los Angeles when they went for the baseball tourney. Even out there, USC's band director approached him on doing something like that out there and Mr. J kindly said no, that the kids already had a show prepared. LOL. That USC band director was like :retard:. He didn't realize they were going to do an actual show on the diamond and was blowing at USC between innings. LOL.

Big Thunder and I told him then he better not let U of H try that isht either if they ask like USC did ....he was like he aint going to get caught up like that. So hopefully that will not happen and no pressure from outside the band is put on him to do that.

As for the game. I am sure SU will follow the rules...but will let U of H have it at every dead ball. Like others have said....our band has no issues with playing while the ball is in play. Traditionally SU band has never been like that. Even in the 80s we didn't blow while the ball was in play. So I doubt the U of H people will have any control on the Jukebox as long as the refs are happy. T

I see that. According to posters on the Baylor board, we also buy Escalades for recruits. Now we have the refs in our pockets?

Well, UH did back during the Klingler, Manny Hazzard, Chuck Witherspoon era for sure.
