Todd Middleton has joined the Southern football staff as linebackers coach in an addition that will have defensive coordinator Terrence Graves taking over as secondary coach.

Graves will remain the defensive coordinator. But instead of also coaching linebackers as he has done for years, Graves will be coaching defensive backs for the first time since 1993 at Winston-Salem State.

The addition of Middleton, and the subsequent shifting of roles, allows Pete Richardson to concentrate on being solely the head coach, as opposed to also serving as the secondary coach last season.

BTW - Prentiss has alot of schollie offers. :nod: SU is one of his considered schools :nod:

This is a good move... Graves is a much better defensive coordinator than he's given credit for. But he's better suited to coach the DB's because that's his position and the fact that he will be directly coaching George. George is a good cover safety and with Graves teaching him the defense as his position coach should make it even more effective.

Yep. George and Mike Williams. We should see if the move was worth in 70 something more days because FAMU likes to air it out and run it but their passing is more better then their running yet both of them suck.

I told yall about Prentiss last football season. Even though everybody in America is after Prentiss, I really think Gram or SU has a shot @ him.

You should've been at the Clinton-Kentwood game.......Prentiss Waggner one-on-one against Kentwood's WR/DB Alfred Franklin....talking about speed on speed. Alfred's got one or two inches on Prentiss...but ask anyone from Evangel and Southern Lab about Franklin (BTW..the other 1A First-Team safety with Chad Jones last season)

Yep. This man said he talked to Prentiss before, and Prentiss would choose SU over GSU though. He said he likes SU and that it has a nice atomosphere. He said that the only problem is, is that we have coaching issues and he hopes that we get it fixed and if we do then who knows where he will end up. It seems that the staff is fixed for this year.

ell they had Printiss checking Joe McNight man to man with no saftey help. I was at the Lab vs Clinton game this season. Man Prentiss burnt the ish out of Chad Jones.

Its something about those Northeast/Clinton kids that they will always consider SU/Gram. I guess it was the way they were raised. Trindon Holiday's last choices were SU/Lsu. Imagine Trindon in SU's backfield right now with his 10.04 100 time. That would be some scary ish.

I know right. Families have them like that and I know for a fact he is not going to LSU. He has about 10 schollie offers and he hasn't played his last season.

Well, I'm not going to say he will head to SU, but you are right about playing right away. He could even start because we lose Glenn and Jarmaul and those 2 are starters but you never know.
