I am very happy with the timing of the termination of Steve Wilson's services. If gives us adequate time to do our due diligence in getting a football coach that can turnaround the football program.

I hope that we have learned our lesson from this bad hire and the bad timing of terminating our men's basketball coach untimely (he needed to go, but it should have been done right after last season).

Now, we must hire a coach that will acquire some junior college transfers and some other players that can make an immediate impact on the program. We can't afford to have someone come in saying, "It is going to take time to build a winning program." Look at what Grambling has been able to do. I know that GSU already had talented players and does not have a hard time recruiting, but we need to win and win now.
